Fangs Echidna 6:27pm, June 02, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | After a lot of talk, and going over just how insanely wide-ranged the list I agreed upon with Morph was, I'm scaling back the list to only allow characters of similar style to Sonic that could fit in with the universe we're rping in, and characters who themselves have the capability to travel through space, time, or dimensions/zones. So here's the list as amended by me.
Allowed Non-Sonic Franchises:
Mario
EarthBound
Metroid
Star Fox
F-Zero
Kirby
Pikmin
Digimon
Nights
Monkey Ball
Space Channel 5
Samba De Amigo
Chu Chu Rocket
Alex Kidd
Ristar
Banjo Kazooie
Examples of Allowed Franchise Similarity:
Rocket Knight Adventures
Earthworm Jim
Aero the Acrobat
Crash Bandicoot
Spyro the Dragon
Jak and Daxter
Ratchet and Clank
Sly Cooper
Bubsy
Gex
Punky Skunk
Jazz Jackrabbit
Klonoa
High Seas Havoc
Blinx the Time Sweeper
Socket
Swat Kats
Rocky Rodent
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger
Bug
Thundercats
Sonic-ified characters will continue to be allowed, albeit restricted. Sonic-ified means you took a character and made them Sonic-like, meaning they're made to be either Mobian or Overlander, and are given a background fitting of the world they are currently in.
If your franchise is not on the list or does not meet similarity requirements as judged by staff, it will need to be phased out. These lists are subject to change if I see fit. If you have any questions, direct them toward myself. You can get a message along to me via my staff if you can't get in touch with me directly, but I do receive offline IMs on AIM and do have an available email.
Note: Any new original character that is based on a franchise that isn't allowed will also not be allowed, unless that character is going to be used to help phase out Non-Sonic Canons that need to be phased out.

Jaguar Cats 12:13am, June 08, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | I've an idea, that might work for phasing out the non sonic characters not on the list. could do a plot where cause of their from a different reality (as most are) that their quantum frequency isn't lined up with that of the chat's. Some thing's done in a attempt to fix this, and the process Sonicify's them =P |

Conrad 11:34am, June 08, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | I think Fang's doesn't want any new Sonicified Canon's otherwise the idea would be kinda funny. However, it is just another way of keeping Canon's in the chat when he's wanting to get them streamlined because there's more Non-Sonic than there is Sonic. |

Gunnar J Lunatri 4:35pm, July 16, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Conrad, just a thought, this isn't slighting anyone,or at least it isn't my intention of doing such. The Key problem I see as far as Sonic-Only is that we cannot seem to get along in whichever universe we choose to RP. Examples are: Kiajinn with the Fleetway Universe as well as SegaSonic,Mine with SatAM,others Quite possibly with the crapfest that is AoSTH (if you like it fine,I personally hate it more than Robotnik hates that hedgehog). That is my theory why Non Sonic Canon outnumbers Sonic Canon Characters, whether the theory holds any validity,I don't know. |

Fangs Echidna 2:04pm, August 12, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Gunnar, I don't think that's a problem. I just think everyone wants to do whatever they please regardless of the fixed setting of this rp chat. There's plenty of other completely open rp chats that allow any character. There wouldn't be a point in this chat if it was just like all of those, which is why I'm sticking to my guns. |

Saiyuki Yaen 12:30pm, August 31, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Why is Digimon allowed but Pokemon is not. |
|
Stealth The Hedgehog 12:51am, September 02, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Saiyuki it could be Digimon can actua;ly talk? Not sure if it is just putting that out there. |

Saiyuki Yaen 12:30pm, September 02, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Some Pokemon talk.
However, for awhile there, there were people in PMC rping ANTHRO versions of Pokemon.
And they were doing a pretty awesome job of it too. |

Stealth The Hedgehog 10:39am, September 05, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | ok you have a point. I was just throwing the whole Pikachu only says his name thing out there for considertion but you do have a valid point. |

Shadow The Hedgehog 8:50pm, September 13, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Well, funny the chat seemed to be the most lively when anything went in terms of characters.

In all seriousness though, this is an online chat, we shouldn't care so much. |

Fangs Echidna 1:23pm, September 14, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Carmen: Digimon are from the digital world, and have been shown to be able to escape the digital world. Aside from a select few Pokemon, most Pokemon wouldn't find their way to Mobius.
Sam: Got anything to actually contribute? If we shouldn't care so much, why u mad? |

Vanity Vengenance 8:13pm, September 26, 2012 [Edit] [Delete] | It's always difficult to go back a step and say this or that isn't allowed especially for people who have been playing certain characters for an extended period of time and enjoy that character. Especially when there's no reason for them not to be allowed. Taking Kei's argument for pokemorphs. I've been playing Pokemorphs forawhile (Keep in mind they are never referred to as such by themselves.) They play a role and I had some interesting Rps with them and I like their characters. Your validation seems to be that they don't have easy access to mobius (Neither do alot of the accepted lists) and it seems that most of the accepted lists favor certain RPers who have their characters from those world like Gunnar or Morph and such rather than they feel natural to the enviroment.
As for Pokemorphs. The ones I play have no conception of Pokemon, They are portrayed as evolved mobians with certain abilities and powers. Sort of like X men and have as little to do with pokemon as I do with billgates other than they're of the same breed.

Morph 3:15am, April 30, 2013 [Edit] [Delete] | So what's the rule on "similar yet different" in regards to OCs being a walking shout out to non-sonic media? Let's say you make an OC that could fit more into the Sonicverse, have a different name and apperence, slightly different origins, yet personality wise be similar to the non-sonic character in question. I've tended to skirt the line with this a few times such as with Instinct or Leonard in particular. Just wanted some clarification on what the official rule is regarding that for future reference.
