So one of Gus' ultimate plans is to loot and destroy Balfonheim Port. As a player, I'd actaully rather not see that happen; I'm just creating an antagonist for a plot to give people something to do. :3

So i was figuring, if their be pirates, maybe they could join in the defense of the city, creating an interesting battle.

Gives other players the chance to become heroes and win acclaim and rewards for aiding the defense of it.

I think it'd be a grand ol' time. :'D

Why would a pirate 'defend' anything but their ship? O_o

Because if the town is destroyed, that's not just one less port city that they can plunder, it'll significantly reduce local sea trade, making the pirates take on each raid much more lean. :P

not to sound like a whiner, but I wanted to recommend a potentialy beter magic system, cause the current one makes it difficult for anyone to play anyone with any decent magic skill.

My suggestion is something similar to 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons

There's three types of spells in that system

Daily spells (spells so minor that they can be used indefinately, like magic missle, an aimed attack that does small damage, it's not a homing spell like in earlier editions)

Encounter spells (spells that can only be used once an encounter, like once during a fight, if the player rests after one fight, he could use it again the next fight.)

Daily spells (spells that naturally can only be cast once per day.)

That way magic users could potentially still defend themselves instead of casting like onie or two attacks spell then being unable to fight without risking thier lives XD.

The magic system is still being worked on. I'm nearing completion on it, so it'll be posted soon-ish I hope.


As for the suggestion of using 4th Edition D&D, I want to refrain from using a too tabletop-ish system, but it will be using the dice command. However, magic will not be easily used, it's something special, not common use.

So yeah. Sorry for taking so long on the magic, just been really busy lately.
