*Physical Description: Often described as having a sinister sneer, the man is five feet and eight inches tall, and athletically built. One of the most prominent features is his oddly purplish hair, which apparently is the result of an accident in an alchemists laboratory.
*History of Character: Gustav grew up without a father, and that left him in a tough position. Bullied by his peers, and having to work hard to help his mother allowed him to grow up bitter and twisted.
The carefree youth that many often have was denied him. Even worse, his status as a commoner and a bastard denied him of the one things all children need; friends.
He has grown up to be a very bitter man. A loner who will leave behind any man under him if they start to lag behind, he only ever truly trusts himself.
As a young adult, his mother was slain by bandits. When one of the bandits came for him, he removed a cooking knife and stabbed him in the gut.
The leader saw the viciousness of the youngster, and rather then killing him for fun, or selling him off as a slave, the leader offered to take him in. They could always use someone as vicious as him.
Now, while he may be a commoner, Gustav is also pretty blight; even as a youngster. The cogs in his head were turning when he accepted.
The bandit leader, Arkan DeLaneth, taught him the ability of the Quickdraw, which emphasized deception of the enemy, and attacking in the same motion as the blade was withdrawn from its sheathe.
When he was 25, he slit the throat of Arkan in the middle of the night, rallied the other bandits around, and held it up high for them to see. He dared anyone that would challenge his authority to rule over them to step forward, so he could take their head as well.
Possibly out of fear, or perhaps respect, and maybe a mixture of both, many of the bandits agreed to elect him as their new leader.
Since then, he's been whipping them up into real good shape. The attacks on caravans have increased, and this time around, they're making sure to leave nothing behind but desecrated corpses. No one has been surviving the recent caravan raids, and no one has yet found out just where these bandits are attacking from.
But if they continue, Mirus Res Publica may be in danger.
