Thread for Mobius and Moving Forward Index | New Thread | Reply | Close | Stick | Delete  Mobius and Moving Forward Aressa 8:35am, December 28, 2016 [Edit] [Delete] Regrettably, getting things going in Mobius hasn't exactly been easy or smooth for most, if not all of us. It's clear to me that we simply cannot just continue things from where we left off. If we wish to move forward properly, we need to discuss the setting, the canon, and what we all aim to get from Mobius. First of all, just to clear things up, the setting described in the Welcome Page of the chat is in fact accurate, which is as follows: "Set on Mobius Prime, taking place during the era of the blue blur, his heroic friends, and their dastardly enemies" This makes it reasonably easy to get back to business as usual, but there are still some problems to work through. I have heard from at least two people that they wanted to start fresh, and take characters in a different direction here. There's also the fact we're missing several key players in my Eggman plot (For instance, Shining Force does not exist). Due to this, our options are to start fresh and redo a bunch of development that already happened (This option is pretty undesirable), start fresh and go in an entirely new direction, or perform a retcon of characters and events to make them line up properly. We could also perhaps come up with a more clever method (Perhaps characters literally coming from a different, but parallel reality). Please, I would love for you all to give me your thoughts, questions, and comments. We can resolve this if we all work together on it. Edited 8:51am, December 28, 2016 by Aressa, author.   Karenza 8:20pm, December 28, 2016 [Edit] [Delete] The way I was looking at it, was it was like a parallel timelime, where things diverged at a certain point, leaving us with two different outcomes, one of which we would follow here. :3 While it could be said we don't have certain things here in Mobius that we did in the other room, I figured we could tack that up as having always been that way in this timeline. If Shining Force doesn't exist, then maybe it was a different group Eggman was targeting, or even just general cities or other populous, whomever or whatever he deemed would be strategic in nudging the world towards despair. If we did things that way, then we'd only need to interchange who/what Eggman was targeting, and we could simply say things had always been that way in this timeline. X people or X groups just didn't exist to begin with here, and we can all act like that's how it always was for Mobius. That said, I'm also perfectly open to settling this issue differently if anyone feels it'd be better to deal with it another way. :3 If we reach a consensus that we all like, then I'm all for whatever everything thinks is best!   Sean 3:08am, December 29, 2016 [Edit] [Delete] Would assume the Freedom Fighters would be the main threat for Eggman as usual. I was also gonna introduce Dr. Quark as a rival faction for him trying to stay relevant along with Morph (or Isuka as I'm calling him here) starting on his side. Not to mention introducing the M Syndicate again in some way. Cosmic and Stella will once again belong to a different branch of Freedom Fighters as per usual.   Chrisu 3:38am, December 29, 2016 [Edit] [Delete] I actually like the idea of parallel timelines, and in a way, I was already doing just that with my chars. x3 I think Karenza's got the right idea there in regard to fixing up the other issues. Not having certain people or groups can be reworked for Mobius in a fairly simple way so long as everyone involved is aware of it. n.n I think the Freedom Fighters would be the logical next choice of getting in Eggy's way as Sean says. They definitely would exist, and perhaps in an equal or greater capacity than the Shining Force was since that doesn't exist in this side of things. Of course, I'm interested in hearing other ideas. Though, I've gotta say, I'm not the greatest fan of the idea of starting over everything either.   Aressa 2:51am, December 30, 2016 [Edit] [Delete] Well, I suppose there really aren't any seriously big obstructions in the way of getting things going in Mobius, although I do wish more joined us.
