Events which can )) (( be found in the logs for 2/1/05 detail the specifics of what )) (( occured during his meeting with Xavier and Emma Frost. What )) (( follows is the official anouncement by Charles on the subject )) (( of Creed and his proposal of joining the X-men )) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Greetings my X-men, Recently Victor Creed, the man also known as Sabretooth, had been apprehended in the woods outside the grounds of the Institute. He is presently being held of his own will in the detention area of the lower levels. He has expressed his reasons for being here were to seek the aide of those within these walls and also to petition to join the X-men. While I have begun to ponder over this, I have not as yet formed a final and sound decision... and as I would not openly invite someone with as unique a history with us as Creed without guaging the desires of you, my family... I am calling upon each of you, my X-men, to voice your opinion on the matter at hand. I encourage you all to speak with Creed if you so wish, access to the detention levels has been given more lax permissions to allow for this. On a closing note I ask only that each of you consider this with a serious mind, and feel more than free to discuss it with one another. Come on, Logan, you calling someone else a murderer with your history, and Betsy, you with yours, calling him a spy? Pisht, come on. Isn't it our job to let in people who ask for our help...and if you ask me, we definately could use it. Put the guy with someone we can trust to keep an eye on him. We know he isn't going to like being babysat, but if he's serious about joining up, he won't do anything to risk it, would he? Come on, we've always given everyone a chance, regardless of their past. I think that includes Sabertooth. And don't give me that "You're young, you don't know him" bullshit, because I've seen what the guy can do. shrugs I say give him a chance. Goodness knows each of you were given plenty. yes...speaks her mind and speaks smartly. Loves being an outspoken journalist...not afraid to say anything.

Unlike him, I'm not a bloodthirsty mercenary who will not hesitate to murder innocent people to do a job. HE LIKES TO KILL. Have I killed, absolutely, ain't denying it. BUt what you need to understand is that it was done when I was forcibly controlled by another. Weapon X, Apocalypse, take your pic. But I don't go by what they preached, never stayed with it like Creed would. There's a difference between him 'n me. I don't kill for the fun of it. Take a closer look at my history and ya might learn something. Know the facts. Oh, wait. You're a reporter! You make 'em up as ya go! I see workin' for the Bugle has done wonders. Jameson'd be proud of ya. And which part of Betsy's past ya refering to ya pip-squeek? Any bad ever done by Betsy was by that wackado Kwannon. Last I remember, Creed also was controlled by Weapon X and Apocalypse, so that right there is a moot point. How do we know he wasn't controlled by something...like that berserker rage you, yourself, have overcome. Maybe he's overcome it himself. You don't know because you can't stand to speak two words to him. He doesn't even have to be on your team, either. There are other teams, last I checked. I honestly think you're being overly childish about saying you'll leave if he joins. You want to leave, go the fuck ahead. You'll be back. You always come back. My affiliation with the Bugle has nothing to do with Jameson. I hate the bastard, to be honest. I'm a Mutant Rights Advocate...and being alot more damn open about it then you are. The Pulse is alot different then you think it is. Flaunts X-men Blue Team leader badge and his subordinates But Since this is Chucks little game, he can do what he wants. And again, as you can't listen to what I said, Creed kills for the pleasure of it, I don't. Even when he isn't controlled by anyone. But you seem to be cool with that. He's been willin' to kill since a mission in Berlin in the early 1960s when we were in the CIA. He killed the person we were tryin' to rescue just to save his own hide. And guess what kid, he wasn't no weapon X flunky or servant to anyone else. He don't give a rats ass. We've tried helpin' him before. We finally captured Sabretooth once, and Ol' Chuck here tried to help him in controlling his own berserker rage like he did me. Yeah, I beat the crap out of him when I found out he was here... skewered his brain. But even though he got all passive and peaceful, and one of our own made all nice with him (Boomer), Creed went back to the way he was, and not only attacked us, but almost took Betsy's life! Just how many chances you gonna dish out before you get it? That bastard has caused more trouble in my life than any other person, caused me the most pain, and you think i'm just gonna go "Aw lets hug I forgive you"!? The ass attacked me when I found him in the woods in the first place! And for the record, I have been hit by trucks, I have been mauled in public by said truck, and I still haven't been mobbed after I got right back up. Pissed the bitch off? Whoopie fuck, she pushes him off hard enough he'll end up gutting her like a stuffed pig, then she won't be saying much at all for a while :p thats the glory of this guy. And its all good, cuz he'll be forgiven for it and back on team... after all, you don't want to be biased now would you? While leader of the government funded X-Factor, the government felt it neccessary to control Sabertooth, and place him on our team as a sleeper... just incase we needed to be terminated. Ask Forge, he built the restainant collar that controlled him. And on his own, Creed found away around the collar, and then viciously assaulted my team, and escaped. He was given a chance to work with us. Yes, I feel that the government was wrong in controlling him as they did, but we accepted him to the team and worked with him, only to pay for it in the end. Now, perhaps I do not know the circumstances of what occured out in the woods, Mr. Logan... but knowing your own past I would find it difficult to believe that you did not yourself enter towards him without hostile intentions. Everyone in here has been voicing themselves based upon their past experiences... I've lost a lot myself from the things this man has done, but I've gained a great deal of understanding and forgiveness recently... I think the question should not be on what he has done, but what he feels and what he thinks. I will leave my decision until after I have spoken to him myself and after I have heard from those able to guage his thoughts and emotions. he quiets back down

I've been face to face with him before...I've been right here during more then one of his rampages of the lowerlevels when we have housed him before. points at Bobby, while still eyeing Betsy I was in one of the rooms when he threw that truck through the mansion. I was hit by a ton of fucking bricks, then needed to help heal people. I've been here longer then you think. Maybe if you weren't vacationing wherever the hell your money takes you, you'd know this. I KNOW the guy. I know he's a violent ass, but Damien has a point. He came of his own will, and I'm not about to think that Logan approached him with a damn fruit basket. And what about that chick I've been seeing on the monitors hanging with you, Logan? She seems just as violent as Creed, if not more, and you're here arguing that she can't help herself? You contradict yourself constantly. I say let him stay. I've said what needed to be said as a team member. shrug

But he has nearly killed me before, and that is just ME. Wolverine has more cause than anyone. Perhaps Creed /did/ come to us of his own volition...but remember that he is very snakey. He could be hiding his own intentions.

Even when I was standing by Chuck when him and Creed talked, he still wanted to throttle me. Thinks Aileen needs an arch-nemesis in her life. ((Hey, not my fault these canons have dealt with him. And Xavier asked X-Team members, and I'm doing so :p .))

Scott Summers 7:11pm, February 04, 2006 [Edit] [Delete]	I have to concur with Aileen on this one, this Mansion is home to many who have made mistakes and errors in their past and we're open to giving people second chances as we've done with even members of this team. We should not be so quick to judge when we ourselves have been judged. If we do ultimately decide to allow Victor into the X-men, I imagine a probitionary period should be instated to see how Victor fares as a member of the team, run tests within the Danger Room to ensure he is capable of mastering his skills and follow orders so that he can take the proper role of a team member. Thats all I am going to say on the matter. lifts his hand to fix his visor, clasping his hands together and resting them before him.

Despite Logan's past dealings with him..the fact that he nearly killed me in this very Mansion..you're going to bloody ALLOW him? You need your head checked, Cyclops. Perhaps those long stays elsewhere have screwed your head. We /know/ how he operates in teh Danger Room! Check the archives from when he was housed here after Wolverine lobotomized him. Just because he says he wishes to join us doesnae mean he is telling the truth. Wolverine would be able to tell you, along with any psychic. Weapon X shields are notioriously difficult to penetrate. Aileen Lucas 3:37am, February 05, 2006 [Edit] [Delete]	Yes, because we all know how clever Creed is and how he can TOTALLY outsmart the PSYCHICS in this house and keep things hidden from them. I dunno...out of, what, SEVEN, not ONE of them will be able to get through his thick skull? Give me a break. And there are a number of people he's nearly killed in this house. I recall Robinson and Conner were a pair at a time, I believe Renafel also delt with him face to face, and probably a few others. Don't think you have exclusive right to claim you're special because you were the only one he's attacked mercilessly. As far as I'm aware, if the interrogations of Vashti after she fried the computer, Creed was a Horseman of Apocalypse. How do we know he's just not been under Apocalypse this whole time and just got free like Lexana is? We have all sorts of people on these teams. Theives, murderers, former drug addicts, betrayers....all sorts of people, and they've been given so many chances by each of us, and always live up to their name time and time again. I think this is a good chance for Creed to prove himself. Besides, with all of our combined experiences with him, wouldn't you want him as a friend much more then an enemy?

Ja, he has made attempts on most of us in the past, and ja, he can tend to be an over-violent monster zat kills vithout regret. But, if he vishes to change, zen I zink zat he deserves zat chance. Vhat else is ze X-Men all about, anyvay? He vouldn't be ze first ex-villian to join our merry band of misfits. Look at Emma Frost, for instance. Or Rogue. Gambit had his stint of being less zen favorable in many of your eyes. Zen zere's Logan, who, as much as I love, hasn't had a very clean past himself. And Renafel, who's got a killer symbiote attached to her. Hepatica is vanted for murder. So is Jade Hino and Ewan McGregor. Both Jean and Rachel have both been under ze influenace of ze Pheonix Force before. Look. Ve are a safe-haven for -all- mutants. And I zink, zat if Victor is ready to put avay his past and learn to vork ze vay ve vork to bring peace between mutant and human, zen ve should allow him. How are ve any better zan anyone ve try to fight against if ve turn him avay now?

Sam Guthrie 4:32am, February 08, 2006 [Edit] [Delete]	Mah two cents is this: Way back when Sabertooth got low tech brain surgery bah Wolverine he was a happy friendly guy livin out his life in the Danger Room as a happy friendly wild man. So while X-force was livin in the mansion Meltdown felt sorry for the man and made friends with him. Wasn't all that long after that Creed got some of his brain back to workin' and he thrashed her within an inch of her life. Ah'm against him bein in this house period. ((OOC Yeah, I know this is a little random as Sam's one of my least played chars these days but I thought he'd have a rather strong oppinion on the matter))

Rachel Summers 7:58pm, February 08, 2006 [Edit] [Delete]	Still under the influence, Kurt. gives him a broad wink before looking back to the rest, standing and making brief eye contact with each of them as she starts speaking I may be younger than many of you and not have as much experience with Victor Creed as the few who have decided to leave this debate and even a few who remain in it, but hear me out. I do not agree with sending him away because of his past. Many of us have done things that don't exactly follow the letter of the law, myself included. The reasons we did them are varied.. from brainwashing to self defence to just a way of life, but it doesn't change the fact that we still did them and yet here we are. Forgiven and attempting to pass judgement on someone who may or may not have been under mind control while he committed these crimes you all speak of. On the other hand, I don't fully trust Sabretooth and am wary of letting him inside the mansion. But as proposed in the initial stages of this argument, why do we not assign, for lack of a better word, a babysitter to him. Find a few people with enough power to keep Sabretooth under control or take him out if he appears to start to lose control and have them take shifts watching him. If it is required for one of us to take him out for incidents that started for unprovoked reasons, then we know that he poses the students too much of a threat for him to be allowed here. But if, after a certain period of close monitoring by his appointed guardians, as well as the psychics and empaths, he shows us a willingness to change and gain control of himself, then I see no harm with slowly laxing his watch before he can be accepted and left unwatched... and maybe allowed onto a team. Creed hasn't really given any of us a reason to trust him, but Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters has always tried to accept people and teach them to control themselves, despite their past. As stated before, we've taken in thieves and murders and all that was asked of them was a willingness to change and to become one who helps to show people that we aren't all monsters who will steal their souls and eat their children for breakfast if they don't watch us. And then we help them achieve that change in themselves. Victor seems to have shown us his willingness to change by approaching us of his own accord and only attacked when faced with someone we all KNOW has hostile feelings towards him. I have not yet talked to him personally, much less tried to scan his mind, so I cannot say for sure whether this is all some plot to gain our trust or a real desire to change and become one of us. That being said, I believe we should give him one last chance. All or none. If he can prove to us he is being sincere in his request and manages to pass his "probation" period of being watched, then we know with some certainty that he wants to change. If he fails... gives a soft shrug of her shoulders Then he has lost his chance to join us for good. and with that, she sits back down and lets the "adults" continue with their arguing
