Vampires

Standard Abilities:
Super Strength: Varies from vampire to vampire but I assure you there are very few that could say lift a bus over head and toss it or stop full on punches from Colossus as if they were nothing (Dracula has done that to collusus either in the first encounter in Xmen #159 or in part 2 in Xmen Annual #6)

Super Speed: The exact speeds attainable are rather unknown but average vampires max out at 40mph over long distances…well above the human standard. They have enhanced reflexes and some vampires usually older or more powerful ones (I.E, Dracula, Baron Blood, Nimrod, etc) can outright dodge some..SOME bullets. But of course I mean from a pistol not a Uzi or a shotgun. That would be impossible.

Hypnotism/Telepathy: With a three second gaze (or in young vampires 5 to 10) a human can be hypnotized by a vampire. But I really suggest the players arrange such an event because it really has to do with the victim’s will power.

Intermediate Abilities: I.E. not all vampires will have these.
Transformation abilities: Wolf, Bat, Mist. Bat is the easiest while mist is the hardest. HOWEVER with the two animal forms only advanced vampires will truly maintain there full intelligence. How this works is a vampire keeps in mind his destination or goals…and then the more simplistic vampire animal mind will attempt to achieve
them…whether it be to attack a target or to fly to a certain area.

ADVANCED: High Level vampires (Dracula, Lachryma,Varnae, few others ONLY)
Wingless Flight: Self explanatory….they can glide on the wind without a bat form. Only seen in several occurrences such as the first appearance of Lachryma in the 2099 comics. And in a few Dracula encounters but it is mostly for gliding…true flight requires a bat form.

Man-sized bat transformation: Dracula and almost…I say ALMOST no others have ever ever been seen capable of transforming into a man sized humanoid bat. Further enhanced strength is a trademark of this form.

Full Intelligence in Animal forms: Applies only to Dracula and a few others

Weather Control: Dracula, Varnae and sons or daughters of Dracula ONLY. There are very few exceptions and they are all canon characters.

Control of animals: High level vampires only can control large masses of vermin such as rats, snakes, bats etc.

This is the majority of vampire abilities. And all I can think of at the moment. I am sure this is it but if in reading my comics I view another obscure one I shall post it as well as what comic it came from

WEAKNESSES:

Sunlight: Direct exposure to sunlight kills slowly and painfully. UV rays do not apply. It must be the physical sun. Exceptions: Baron Blood used the sun-walker formula developed by the Nazi’s to make him walk in the sun. Only the Legion of the Damned (drac’s group) is even close to developing it and they are still years if not decade’s away.

Holy objects: The damage and reppelant ability comes not from God but from one’s own faith. A good example would be this. Homer Simpson with a crucifix would get his ass handed to him by vampires. Ned Flanders on the other hand could use a crucifix to keep a good deal of vampires at bay simultaneously. Exceptions: Varnae the 1st vampire only needs fears holy symbols from his own era of Atlantis. Some “human” vampires such as Lillith are immune as well.

Running Water: Obscure weakness that depends on the writer of the comics at the time. Sometimes a vampire can hop in a river unharmed…other times Dracula can nearly be killed by being thrown in one. Its an obscure and not really substantiated marvel vamp weakness but I am listing it regardless.

Fire: In the words of marvel’s own Frankenstein monster…….FIRE BAD! Unless you know how to repel it mystically like Dracula (I’ve never seen anyone else do this other than Lillith but she is not a normal vampire)

SILVER: Do not believe what you have seen in the movies. They are not that allergic to silver. Silver merely negates vampyric regeneration. Example: A silver bullet to the chest will damage a vampire the same way it would a human shot in the chest. So yes silver is bad but unless it’s a silver stake to the heart there is no instant disintegration

Wood: Wood to the heart equals death how fast the flesh and organs and muscle (bones remain , even in silver disintegration) disintegrate, rot away depends on the vampire. Generally fast. Most common exception: Dracula.

Severed head: Yeah….getting your head cut off will kill most things.

Garlic: Purifying properties are distasteful to vampires they will avoid if they can.

Inability to enter unless invited: Once again obscure weakness. It is quite often ignored but sometimes depending on the writer acknowledged. Its really up there to the Admins on that ones. But Most note this only applies to a personal home. Entering a school such as xaviers or a hospital or any place else is NOT a problem. Dracula has entered the mansion in comics without invitation so yah.

PERMANENT DESTRUCTION OF VAMPIRES NO RESSURECTION POSSIBLE: This is superfluous in that I’m sure no vampire resurrections will occur without consent of Admins and I doubt they will ever happen. But just for the sake of pointing out. Some vampires like Dracula or Deacon Frost are more powerful and decay more slowly and by there own will or followers or a demon can be resurrected if not killed in this method but as I said for RP purposes not realy necessary but bare with me hear.
1. Stake through heart
2. Cut off head
3. Stuff mouth with garlic
4. Burn both head and body
5. Spread both ash piles in different locations

BIGGEST NOTE OF ALL! EVERYONE TAKE NOTE: The toxins vampire emit when they bite are supernatural. To make a vampire one must drain the victim almost completely so the toxin outnumbers the blood in the body. The person dies and three days later returns as a vampire. The toxins are uber corruptive and will turn the person into a twisted evil version of there former selves. Exceptions are the uber strong willed folks like Van Helsing (it happened),Hannibal King, Dracula, Varnae, and in a What If...? Comic...even Wolverine.

NEXT IMPORTANT NOTE: Each vampires toxin is similiar yet unique to them. When you bite someone the victim is unable to resist your hypnotic/telepathic powers for a full month. Even if they have telepathic powers. I.E. If Drac bit charles Xavier......Xavier couldnt resist drac for a whole month. Also the victims tend to establish a sort of erotic twisted obession with their biter...thus why most male vamps go after women and vice versa.
Also its hinted at that unless they make their presence obviously known a vampire can elude pyschic detection (or at least Dracula can) This is examplified when Claremont decided to put drac in an Xmen story. Drac visits Storm by night for several weeks before anyone has any clue whats going on.
This is all. I will add things here as I see them in Marvel comics but this is all the basic info. Any specific info I had I will quote the comic it comes from. Thank you for reading this.

What about resistance to telepathy? I agree with Sabi on the the other board post about Drac having the strength to fight against Nate Grey and Emma combined, but all vampires?
