 Alternate reality team!

So, with Remy and Ali-Cat's permission, I've been working on an inter-dimensional team of bouny hunters/adventurers that hop through different realities. They're sort of like a cross between Exiles and X-Force. In that way that yes, they do hop through different timelines, but they're more of a mercenary force than a team brought together to fix time-slips or whatever it is that Exiles do.

Anyway! The team is called X-Net. It was put together by my original character Jacob Hunter, who got snagged out of X-Mansion's regular reality by Technet (their a similiar group of bounty hunters from the Excalibur comics. Where I got part of the idea from.) on accident, and after it the mistake was discovered, he stayed with them. Eventually, he left and formed his own team, X-Net.

The idea behind this team is for the roster to be made up of alternate versions of original characters that people play in the chat. I figured it wouldn't be any bigger than 4 or 5 people, but if there's more interest than that I'm sure I can figure something out.

X-Net's main base of operations is in Pheonix, Arizona in a different reality apart from standard X-Mansion. To span the realities, they have a gateway device that Jacob aquired off an evil Reed Richards and Dr. Doom from that reality. There's a bit more detail that goes into it, but I'm not at home now where the write-up is, and so I'll add in more details later, or just tell the people that come to me wanting to do it.

So yeah. If you're interested, let me know. IM is Unwilling Hero, email is unwillinghero@gmail.com

Here's the write up I sent Remy:

X-Net
A team of dimension-hopping bounty hunters lead by Jacob Hunter of X-Mansion's regular reality. Their central base of operations is in Pheonix, Arizona, in an alternate reality apart from X-Mansion's. The team consists of 4 to 5 members, all from different realities. (Whoever wants to do it can make an alternate version of one their original characters for the team). Because Jacob comes from Technet, he employs similiar methods of aquiring jobs from different realities, most from keeping in contact with various informants from those realities.

The team is able to communicate with and span across different dimensions using an inter-dimensional gateway that had been developed by an evil Reed Richards and Dr. Doom of the reality their base is located on. Jacob Hunter, having started to branch out from Technet, was sent to this reality to put a stop to the two before they had a chance to begin crossing dimensional realities. He wound up teaming up with this reality's version of the F4 (called the Terrific Three, as it only consisted of Sue and Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm) and eventually managed to foil the two before their plans could be seen through. Jacob took the two into custody, and after handing them over to Technet, he returned to the T3 and offered to buy the equipment from them. They were hesistant at first, but the now stranded Jacob wouldn't let down. He continued his pestering over a number of -months-, at which point they finally gave up and handed it all over to him, calling it a gift for helping them capture Richards and Doom, and for him to just go away.

The gateway uses the dimension destinations as a sort of dialing number (Earth-616 would be dialed in as 616), which then opens a portal and allows travellers to freely travel to the dimension which was dialed (Yes, it's a rip-off of Stargate..."It's a Faaaargate."). Once all passengers were through, the gateway would close and then can only be opened again from the gateway itself. So, com-units were developed by T3 which allowed for inter-dimensional communication. Using these, an operator would stay at home while the rest of the team travels out. When the team is ready for departure, they simply call in the operator and he opens a portal. All portals open and close in the same spot, but that spot varies greatly between worlds.

The com devices are also used to keep in touch with the contacts that X-Net has in various dimensions.

Jacob gathered the various team members while he and this reality's version of Lara Broughton (who he had met when he first started setting up his base, the two started a romance similiar to the one he had with X-Mansion's regular Lara) started exploring the different dimensions and meeting new people.

Also, there's already a small plot cooked up with Vance Bale, so c'mon people, I know some of you have got an idea about what your character would be like from an alternate-reality.
