A little over a year ago, the once nationally acclaimed newspaper, The Sun printed the now imfamous story DareDevil Revealed!, which claimed that blind lawyer, Matthew Murdock, was in fact that high-flying viglante of Hell's Kitchen. The media attention that followed nearly crippled an honest and good man's career, and as retaliation, the Offices of Nelson & Murdock served Sun Publications a libel suit for a sum of Four-Hundred Million Dollars.

Last month, the case finally came to a close when Sun Publications settled outside of court, paying Murdock a whopping 2.5 million dollars in personal damages. Now, the blind lawyer has something big planned, and it has to do with the very place he not only grew up in, but now also fights to protect, Hell's Kitchen.

Murdock donated almost the entire sum of his settlement to Clinton, which will placed into clean up and development of the one time criminal cess pool. The donation, along with the recent steep decline of crime within the city (due, ironicly, to the efforts of Murdock's once accused alter-ego, DareDevil) looks to turn the Kitchen into an entirely new place, once finished.

Included in the outline for the city was the improvement of education, renovation of many of the city's more run-down districts, parks, and even a new art museum have been mentioned to be in the works.

Along the the hefty donation, the remainder of Murdock's settlement went directly back into his law firm, Nelson & Murdock, and will be used in helping people that aren't able to afford a good attorney. This will allow them to be able to hire Murdock or his partner, Franklin Nelson, at absolutely no charge and get the very best defense possible. Previously, Nelson & Murdock were well known for their charity, but with limited funds at their exposal, their defense, while still agruely one of the best, is not up to par with what it could be, and what looks like it will soon be.

Currently, Nelson & Murdock are in talks to enlarge their Firm, and there's also been speculation that Matt has been approached by the Republican Party to run as mayor, though there has been no cofirmation on whether or not this is truth, or just another rumor to fly out of the Murdock Mill.
