Buzzy Nickles 10:44pm, July 17, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] Seen in everyone's hands are copies of newspapers and magazines with a picture of Hell's Kitchen's vigilante known as DareDevil, all the titles bearing such words as "DareDevil Revealed!" and "The Man Behind the Mask-- DareDevil's true identity!" One such magazine contains the following information: Remember: You saw it first in The Sun! In an exclusive interview with Juliette Domremy, this mutant girl from westchester revealed the true identity of DareDevil--- Blind lawyer Matthew Murdock! In the interview, several shocking details were uncovered about the alleged blind man. Sun: Juliette Domremy, can you tell us your relation with Matthew Murdock? Juliette Domremy: Well, my family had a divorce a while back and I saw him a few times from afar when we were thinking about him as our lawyer. Later on he came into the restaurant where I work, Romano's, with his girlfriend. S: So you met him the first time in your restaurant? J: Yes. I went to take his order and he was very smug. His girlfriend as well. They snapped their fingers at me like I was some slave of theirs and in very snobby voices told me what wine they would have. As I was turning to come back with their wine, I saw Mr. Murdock take off his glasses. As I drew closer to their table, I was shocked to hear him complimenting his lady friend on how well she looked. It's no secret to me that Mr. Murdock is blind. S: So you're saying that Mr. Murdock actually told his date that she looked nice? J: Yes. I guess they noticed that I'd heard them, because his date called me over and told me that she would like to know the specials of the day, because she hadn't seen snitching that a poor blind man had eyesight on there. It sounded like a bit of a threat to me. S: That's fascinating. Are you telling us that indeed this blind man had been faking blindness for so long? J: That's exactly what I'm saying, sir. Afterward I was called to his offices, where he told me that he was the vigilante DareDevil, and that if I spoke a word then I would become another of DareDevil's victims of twisted justice. I kept quiet, but as people that live with me will tell you, the horror of it drained me physically mentally and emotionally. It was then that I went to visit him again. S: Back up a moment, please, Ms. Domremy. Matthew Murdock threatened to kill you? J: I don't know if he meant to kill, but isn't that certainly what happens to his victims? When I came to the area of his offices again, I was nearly robbed. A group of very muscular men a bit older than me helped me up and returned my purse to me. They were very nice boys. It was then that the Devil struck them down. I don't know if he killed them or simply incapacitated them, as he had managed to knock me unconscious just before.... S: Ms. Domremy? Can you tell us what happened next? If it's too painful you don't have to tell us right away. J: No, it's alright. I woke up lying in his bed. He told me that I would stay there until he told me I could leave. I was frightened of what he might do to me, so the instant he turned his back, I fled. S: Oh my goodness... Has he contacted you since? J: Yes. He forced me to walk with him as if casually once, and told me again never to speak to anyone about him. Later, I was visiting a coffee shop when he made me sit with him, and listen to more of his threats. I was afraid to go, but eventually I stood my ground.I think now that it's time the rest of the world knew the truth about this devil of a man. S: Thank you very much for your time, Ms. Domremy. J: Thank you for having me. As you, our faithful readers, can see, this man is a danger to all around him. We advise anyone nearby him to remain calm and not make any sudden movements. Ben Urich 3:36am, July 18, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] After rumors began circulating that Matthew Murdock was not only DareDevil, but also that he's been pretending to blind. Thoughout the article, Murdock was accused of being abusive, cruel, and nothing less than a common crook. Shortly after the article hits stands, however, well over three dozen witnesses came forward, stating that many of the accusations toward Murdock, were, false. According to many of the citizens that live in Hell's Kitchen. Matt Murdock is a kind, helpful indiviual who has done nothing but help the city become cleaner. While not much was stated about whether or not he is, in fact, DareDevil, the general opinion is this: Matthew Murdock, DareDevil or no, is probably one of the best citizens that Hell's Kitchen has to offer.
