Why are you bumping this?

To be honest, power grids really hold no salt in here. We've left them up and sometimes consider them as helpful guides to aid in creating some characters, but as the system itself is completely flawed, when it comes to knowledge about a character or RPing a character, they don't count.

Only reason the system is flawed is because Marvel writers continually take liberties with characters and nerfed others. One second the character is godly, the next they are being smooshed by a wheel of moldy cheese.

*Blinks* How does this not help with RPing characters? Simple example: two characters both with super strength. One is class 2, the other class 5. That right there tells which of the two characters is stronger and who could lay down a harder ass whoopin'.

*Shrugs* The grid does hold salt as I know people who have used it and still do. It's a good comparative tool. Marvel has recently redesigned their website and as such has included the grid on all the character profiles. The grid is being maintained by Marvel, as well as a secondary spot for the fans to give there input in regards to there thoughts on the power levels.

.... meh, doesn't matter what I say anyways, you'll say the exact opposite to it anyways Ali.:p

On a seperate note, I've made my own power system thats more advanced than Marvels and covers more ground. IT can be found HERE!
It's not 100% complete yet, more like... 90%... but almost done. *Shrugs* Take it for what you will.

Well, I think what Ali was /trying/ to get it is just that Nikku. The Grid is a good comparative tool but its not required that people use it in chat because there are some discrepancies to be had because you have to go on the whole.
For example:
The Hulk has a Strength rating of 7 (meaning he can feasibly whoop some heavy ass)
Captain America only has a rating of 6, one less than the Hulk, but even 1 is significant on the Marvel Scale.
HOWEVER
Hulks Intelligence and Fighting Skill is 1 and 4 respectively while Captains are both 6. While Hulk could by the numbers liquify Cap with one hit, Cap has the superior skill and intelligence which gives him the upper hand against the Hulk.

It's a thing where the numbers are good in one instance and bad in another. Someone rating themselves as Strength class 7 (for RP purposes) might suddenly think they can fight anyone and be Billy Badass and never lose, but even with that 7 never take into account that they're up against someone with a higher INT, Fighting Skill or Speed who could with the right circumstances ALWAYS topple someone regardless of their strength.

For RP, it works in character creation but once on the RP Battle Field should really be taken as a kind of Best-Case-Scenario because Hulk isn't always going to be at his Strongest and Captain America isn't always going to have his head in the game (so to speak).
