We have put into place a system for leveling up and for determining skill level. People may choose to use this in a friendly spar or fight between their characters if they agree on it. Also, the dice system is always used for quests, events, and other things hosted by the Chat Master, or whenever the Chat Master asks for it. Again, you do not have to constantly roll during a normal RP if you do not wish.

To level up, you must gain experience (EXP). Experience is gained any time you use a particular skill. Cameos and regular RPs with others do count for EXP. You do not have to use dice for it to count. However, you can only gain 10 EXP per day, per character and with a maximum of 20 EXP for that skill in a week. That is just for the basic usage, practice, and training posts. Keep in mind that quests and event usage of skills will grant greater EXP earned. If you make use of a particular skill in a post, you gain 10 EXP, however, you only gain 10 EXP for the day with that character. Choose your skills wisely. The same character may work on different skills throughout the week, however, keep in mind the maximum of 20 EXP earned for that skill in a week's time.

Keep track of your EXP in this thread. Every player should have one post in this thread. Each time you gain EXP through RP, make note of it here. Post a link to what you did in the logs, the character used, and the skill used. For example, it should look like this: "[link to logs] Sarahbelle, swimming." Or you may leave the post of what your character did in your thread. Either or. You will likely be asked by the Chat Master to tack on the EXP gained onto your profiles every now and again to help track progress for that particular skill. DO NOT add the EXP onto the profile until asked to do so by the Chat Master.

Once enough EXP has been gained to level up, a note of it will be made in this thread. For example "Jan 1, 2016 - Sarahbelle gained Level 13 Swimming." Your post will then be edited to remove the relevant bits to help keep things clean and easy to find. You may then edit your profile to reflect your leveled up skill.

If you have gained enough EXP and it has gone unnoticed by the staff for a week, feel free to point it out in chat or ask one of the staff members about it over PM.

Level 1 - New to the use of magic/ability/skill. Character would not hold much skill in this branch.
Level 5 - Able to utilize magic/ability/skill, but with some limitations yet as there is much to learn.
Level 10 - Character has been practicing for a great number of years and is able to cast magic spells, use ability/skill, or what have you with little effort.
Level 15 - Characters at this level have mastered everything there is to know about the type of magic, ability, or skill which they utilize and there is nearly zero cost to them.
Level 20 - Characters possess a magic/ability/skill level that is on par with the gods and is unmatched by any beneath them.

As for the dice modifiers, it is rather simple, your level equals the modifier used to add on to any dice roll.

Do note that even being Level 20 in a skill does not guarantee a success, given these values, as in most cases a d20 is used, sometimes even a d50 or d100.

On occasion, other bonuses can be added to the dice as well during various events based on things like race or blessings, but these will be spelled out in the instructions for those events.
