[Delete] | Place: UFP's Yorktown Starbase (seen in Star Trek: Beyond). The base houses both Starfleet personnel and civilians from a wide variety of worlds, from young to old. The Federation has opted to build habitats in space rather than colonize member worlds to avoid any potential accusations of favoritism. Yorktown is located near the edge of charted space.
Time: Shortly after the events of the movie, near the end of the 23rd century
In terms of characters, this means Yorktown has civilian scientists, engineers, teachers, entertainers, and other employees mingling with members of Starfleet and other Federation officials as well as delegates from any number of worlds. Visitors come and go; the base is also used as a shipbuilding facility. Families have put down roots here. The variety of people and species one may encounter is almost endless.
