This thread is just a little something I'm going to constantly update after individual Corellia battles, the result of my scrupulously analyzing logs so that new joiners won't have to. This will contain the highlights as I see them, and those that have important points of their own to state are encouraged to do so here. However, inaccuracies would be best brought to my attention via AIM, and I will edit my posts to fix them and then post the number of times I've edited them in the thread reply description. I'll highlight what I've changed from the original post in blue for easy reading.

Remember, that this is an OOC summary report, and it's up to you to figure out your individual character's knowledge of these events, and why you have it. The average Republic pilot will know lots of interesting and useful things about the space battle, but not a lot about Rohan's struggle with the Ne'kressis within their own twisted spaceborne lairs. Thank you for your discretion.

Ne'kressis Battle

Corellia started, oddly enough, at Falleen. The Utaris exited a wormhole with a posture suggesting it intended to attack the system. As this was about to occur, however, other Ne'kressis forces, a different clan known as the Shek'dai, unexpectedly attacked the Utaris, a vessel that is the property of the ruling council of the clans itself. The Shek'dai proceeded to murder one of the ruling council members (which one is uncertain to the audience) and then retreated from the main Ne'kressis forces. The Shek'dai rebellion has begun, and not for the first time (as alluded to by "Zhekdai"). What the Ruling Council forces decide to do about Falleen is left to ambiguity as the narration pans to Corellia itself.

Side Encounter: Rohan's Struggle

Rohan seems to be dominated at the beginning by another soul, but is eventually given his own will back, at which point he marauds through the Ne'kressis vessel, battling its horrors singlehandedly. It also seems that he starts to give in to his own anger, and the dark side. As the battle progresses, the other 'soul' inside Rohan's body seems to be guiding him through certain tasks, helping him to manipulate Ne'kressis technology. He activates a phase drive in his encounters. (It would be appreciated if Azhrei would clarify, as I'm not sure about how to summarize most of what's happened to him)

Corellia

Shane Coltar, Vila Kalle, and Jair Karredo, all high-ranking New Republic military officers, start by giving speeches or words of encouragement to their respective forces before joining battle with the Ne'kressis. The Ne'kressis forces are far superior to the New Republic ones, and the count disclosed to the audience is as follows:

  • 12 Dhalein destroyers
  • 36 Shalein cruisers
  • 60 Fhalein frigates
  • "Scores upon scores" Ne'kressis Dharska fightercraft (ambiguity)
  • Previous includes Ne'kressis bombers as well

These ships are immediately around Corellia itself...beyond the planet, there're far more.

  • The Kraiken, a massive Ne'kressis command ship made analogous to Dark Empire's Eclipse-class Star Destroyers.
  • Hundreds of Ne'kressis capital ships, though of which kind is an ambiguity so far
  • Eclipse vessels (Eclipse as in the Ne'kressis-supported religious organization) are already joining battle with the NR as the battle opens.

Kalle decides initially not to engage the destroyers, and Admiral Arghua decides to engage the Fhaleins primarily. The Ne'kressis spread out and take the NR force head on, and at this point the Jedi start getting introduced, for we learn OOC that they're mostly on the Husaria. The Ne'kressis leader of the battle at Corellia, presumably Kra'gressis, taunts the NR forces and asks for their surrender (the message originating from the Kraiken).

Interestingly enough, the Eclipse older fightcraft are making suicide runs against NR fighters to reduce their numbers. The Eclipse have most of their capital ship support in the form of dreadnaughts and lancer frigates that protect and flank Ne'kressis Fhalein frigates. Karredo's fighters get into a spear formation to get to the more important Ne'kressis targets. Kalle starts to engage the Dhalein destroyers. Flying, pyramidal ships then make their way onto the scene, "mystery ships" that move for the Husaria.

The Kraiken begins charging up a powerful superweapon that it makes reference to as having wiped out a large portion of the NR fleet at Bilbringi in a previous battle. The leader of this vessel means to facilitate the Republic's surrender with this. Karredo's fighter wing penetrates the Ne'kressis fighter screen at this point. Kalle attempts to defend Husaria from the strange pyramidal vessels with cluster missiles. At this point, Admiral Arghua is nearly killed by kamikaze fighters, and the NR vessel Odyssey goes undamaged by the vessels' flight through it, as if the vessels were incorporeal when they made their flight through the ship. All but one of the pyramidal Ne'kressis vessels attacking Husaria are destroyed by cluster missile fire, and this vessel releases Ne'kressis boarders.

The emerald ball of destruction released by Kra'gressis's vessel rolls through space but, oddly enough, moves past the NR vessels. Instead it destroys Centerpoint Station, ancient artifact of incredible potential and value both to the NR and the Ne'kressis if they'd decided to manipulate it. Against orders, it seems, Jair Karredo pushes further into the Ne'kressis fighters, ignoring Coltar's orders that he rejoin the main fleet. At this point, Mavei, Haley Lorian, Melyndy Danon, and Eve Skyler all mobilize to repel the Ne'kressis boarding Kalle's Husaria.

At this point, Admiral Arghua imparts upon the NR some good news that much of the Ne'kressis fleet, possibly two-thirds of it, is illusory. He advises the NR to concentrate only upon what's real. The Eclipse lancer and dreadnaught vessels attempt to kamikaze into the NR ships Intrepid and Battle of Yavin and are, from what I discern, largely unsuccessful. The battle continues to rage a bit for the Jedi get contact with Kalle's forces for an update on the boarding Ne'kressis on the Husaria. The Kraiken slowly moves towards Coltar's forces in response to a challenge. Jair's small force of fighters enters hyperspace, exiting battle. Many of Odyssey's supporting Mon Cal ships are destroyed by the Ne'kressis as battle is joined by the Jedi and the Ne'kressis boarders on the Husaria. It is at this point that a small force of starviper-class fighters join the battle (presumably unidentifiable by transponder codes, "Black Sun Squadron"). Also, a number of Eclipse vessels exit hyperspace and join the battle:

  • "Countless vanguards" of Eclipse fighters (ambiguity)
  • 5 Striker Cruisers
  • 3 Lancer Frigates
  • 1 Vindicator Cruiser

It seems like a force to aid other, retreating Eclipse forces, but eh, I'm not sure. That'll have to be revised.

Jair's force returns to lend aid, specifically trying to aid the besieged Black Sun ships. The battle continues for a while, with forces on both sides taking damage as Coltar suggests to Kalle that landing operations be initiated upon Corellia.

The Eclipse Vindicator cruiser eventually jumps to hyperspace, along with a great deal of the Eclipse fighters. The troops prepare to be deployed for the ground battle as the last of the Ne'kressis are repelled from the Husaria. The imbroglio rages above as preparations for the ground fight begin, and the Ne'kressis "watching" fleet seems, in a macabre twist of fate, to have disappeared...
