It could have gone better. The critisim I accept is from people who took part with the intention of it being a political meeting. Those who say "it needed action" I ignore. People say it wasnt Star Wars - I disagree. The politics of the New Republic have been played upon in many of the expanded universe books, indicating the Senate is going the same way as the Old Republic. I presume people remember the senate scene in Phantom Menace. It is Star Wars - just not what people are used to in terms of action and adventure. Oddly enough, whilst it seems their were irritation and chaos - it just fueled the ´Senate´ Atmosphere. So remarkably, it all carried off quite well.
What did it achieve?
Currently the atmosphere is in favour of the treaty. The loss of Bothawui will take a large toll on the New Republic (in terms of intelligence especially). People should expect some other systems to soon leave the New Republic also - those systems that hold good relations with the Bothan home planet.
It´s also increased the chance of rebellion - Adumar has felt that its not appreciated leading to a ration like situation with torpedoes and missiles.
The vote still needs to take place.

A poll will go up shortly on what the next event should be. I wish for suitable comments on the Senate event below - especially ones that attempt to suggest and improve for more Senate meetings in the future - its an important part of the New Republic.
