A new virus called Atypical bubos hemmorhagic fever, also known as Bubola, has recently begun to wrek havoc upon the cititzens of the Galaxy. Officials believe that the virus has sprung up from the slums of Coruscant, but it is difficult to pinpoint exactly where it has come from considering how wide-spread it has become. More than 500,000 citizens have been found to be infected and are currently in isolation for testing, but doctors fear that the number could be much higher. Death toll has reached 250,000. Please be advised that if you have the following symptoms, you should report to your family doctor or nearest Medical Centre immediately for further testing.

Symptoms include, but are not limited to:
Minor: Flu-like symptoms (High fever, nausea, vomitting, weakness, lack of appetite)
Unusual redness in and around the eyes
Black-ring like bruises appearing around the eyes and mouth (systematically following the redness)
Fainting spells, dementia, and mild auditory hallucinations
Major: Blisters, boils, and/or blood and/or a black sludge substance appearing around mucus membranes
Gastrointernal pain and the feeling of bloating
Severe hallucinations, blackening of the tips of limbs due to blood loss

The incubation period for the virus is approximately one week before symptoms will occur. They may vary from mild to severe, respective to the list above, and some people appear simply to be carriers of the virus with no obvious symptoms. It is unknown as to how long it will last, as most patients die after 1-3 months. Surviving patient's age usually is between 13-45 years of age, and continue to have symptoms for up to 3 months, although it could last longer. The survival rate appears to be approximately 25%, and patients will have some permanent scarring from the boils, amputation caused by blood loss fo limbs, and potentially substantial brain damage from high fever. Studies are primative.
The virus is spread through the mucus membranes, via saliva, blood, and genital fluids.
It is advised that the homes of infected people should be cleaned utterly, clothing burned. The dead should be immediately cremated, and the dying should not be ressucitated under any circumstances, for risk of further spreading. Patience should be thoroughly hydrated and fed, and must remain in bed, as it seems to be over exertion that is the main killing factor caused by severe weakening of the muscles, including the heart.
It has been known that an annonymous person has claimed they hold the cure and vaccine for the virus, but due to the complexity of the mutations and the farfetched ransom the person has demanded, scientists believe this to be a false claim. So far, none has been found.
