[Delete] | It is 100 ABY, the Galaxy is split between the Brotherhood of the Sith and the Galactic Union. After 50 years of conflict between the two factions, a stalemate was created that has left the Galaxy in a tense standoff. Neither side gaining much in the way of advantage over the other. Some seek to keep this as the status quo, rather than risking all out war, others seek to push the factions to resume the war. To battle until only one group remains.
The ruling Council of Lords of the Brotherhood of the Sith controls their territories from the throne world of Dromund Kaas. The Sith is ruled by Dark Lords who all have their own section of the galaxy that combined makes up the Brotherhood's territory.
The other majority of the galaxy is controlled by the Galactic Union, an alliance that rose from the ashes of the New Republic after a bitter war with the Imperial Remnant. This group found itself in a bitter war against the Brotherhood that was brutal and nearly caused the destruction of the Jedi Order.
The Jedi act as the enforcers and protectors of the Galactic Union. Based on the fortress world of Tython, after a crushing defeat on Ossus that nearly wiped out the Order, the Jedi regained their numbers and have been wary of their adversaries in the Brotherhood ever since, not wishing to suffer another defeat like that.
