Thread for Story and Setting Index | New Thread | Reply | Close | Stick | Delete  Story and Setting T 2:13am, October 16, 2007 [Edit] [Delete] It is a time of relative peace in the galaxy, the New Republic is currently keeping the peace around the galaxy as new Chief of State, Adamar Kintero, begins his term as leader for this galaxy spanning organization. However, beneath the surface of the peace, unrest grows. Commander and Leader of the Imperial Remnant, Gilad Pellaeon, has been overthrown by a new circle of Imperial Officers who have grown restless since the peace treay Pellaeon signed with the New Republic. Pellaeon's fate is unknown, however, the Imperial Remnant has closed it's borders to all New Republic traffic, allowing no one or enter or leave, claiming they wish to be left alone. Also during this time, Daala, former Admiral of the Empire, has met with an untimely fate, her and her followers who left the Empire and Galaxy at large were discovered dead, killed in a battle on the world they settled. Shortly after the closing of their borders, during a PR Event held at the Bilbringi Shipyard, an Imperial Strike Force, which had a new breed of warship among their number, appeared out of Hyperspace and launched an all out attack on the shipyard, destroying the NRS (New Republic Ship) Freedom and her sister ships, which were supposed to launch at the end of the press conference held by Admiral Ackbar. During the battle, the shipyard was heavily damaged, considered a total loss by the Bilbringi Company, and Admiral Ackbar himself was seriously wounded in the battle, his current condition is unknown at this time. The reason by this attack is unclear, save for an open declaration of war against the New Republic. The new ruling power behind the Imperial Remnant have yet to release any sort of formal declaration, however, the attack in itself is undeniable proof that the Former Empire wishes to take back what they believe is theirs. At the same time as the strike force attacked the shipyards, a second force attacked Yavin IV, home to the Jedi Order under grandmaster Luke Skywalker. The initial attack came via a new Hyperspace gun that struck the Order with Hyperspace Torpedos, then the Strike Force landed on the planet and wiped out any survivors, and took Skywalker prisoner. During the aftermath of the attack on Yavin 4, the Imperial Remnant, which redubbed itself the Galactic Imperium, has declared they have captured Luke Skywalker as a prisoner of war for the crime of murdering the Emperor and brainwashing Lord Vader. The Imperium also justifies the attack on Yavin 4 as removing a threat to the galaxy, as the Jedi once before tried to take over the ruling body of government and attempted to assassinate then Republic Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Luke Skywalker was tried and found guilty of war crimes against the Galactic Empire, and is currently awaiting his sentence. Due to the Admiral's current condition, the supreme commander of the New Republic Defense Fleet is being decided upon by the Senate until such time as Admiral Ackbar is recovered and able to resume his duties. T 12:29am, September 17, 2009 [Edit] [Delete] Three months have passed since the devastating assault on the capital world of Coruscant. The Republic Senate, reduced over two thirds of their number, have relocated to Corellia and established a new Senate and have begun to rebuild their political structure. During this time, the Republic armies fell into confusion and disarray due to their leaders scrambling to keep the political foundation protected and intact from further attacks. The Empire, using the Republic's moment of weakness, expanded their front lines across many areas, pushing the Republic back to start a new wave of battles on new worlds. Meanwhile, in the shadows of the galaxy, the Sith grow in power as Darth Animus, Dark Lord of the Sith, continues to expand his power, using agents from a world which housed a long lost offshoot of the ancient Sith race. These agents serve as assassins and as his eyes and ears, carrying out his will to ensure the Sith rise to dominance in the galaxy once more. In Chiss space the Jedi continue to rebuild and train their numbers to one day fully return to the Galaxy. The Chiss continue to have a strained truce with the Jedi, going against their isolationist policies to let the Jedi have a safe haven in their own territory. Several members of the Jedi have become unsettled with their place, and have moved back out into the Galaxy to see what they can do against these darkening tides of the Force that moves against their Order...   T 9:33pm, May 07, 2010 [Edit] [Delete] Two months have passed since the Jedi have moved to their new homeworld of TYTHON, where they now work to rebuild the Order. The Jedi, now living as recluse apart from the rest of the Galaxy, have little interaction, though some still slip out into the greater Galaxy to continue their work. During this time, the NEW REPUBLIC and the GALACTIC EMPIRE have reached a stalemate in the course of the GALACTIC CIVIL WAR. Both sides, now seeking a peace treaty, have pulled back on further offensives in hopes a truce can be reached. However, hardline elements of both sides do not see a treaty being the best option, hoping instead to move and cripple the opposing side. Unknown to all, DARTH ANIMUS, Dark Lord of the Sith, has retreated to Sith Space and has been forming a powerful force in this secretive part of space. Utilizing the Dark Energies harvested from the destruction of KORRIBAN, he has been absorbed in this wash of dark energies and been honing and sharpening his abilities as he lets his followers stretch out into the galaxy to tip the balance to darkness. After their defeat at the BATTLE OF MANDALORE, the MANDALORIANS have banded together under the banner of their newest leader, MANDALORE THE ENFORCER. These harden warriors train and sharpen their skills as they prepare for the next stage of the galactic war.
