Dark times have fallen upon the Empire as the resistance seems to have recovered it's footing to lash out against the seat of the Empire itself - the throne. Xavier killed to a terrorist attack and one known as Victor von Doom conspired somehow to lure none other than the then Emperor Magnus Maximoff himself into a trap which resulted in the loss of his powers.

In a curious twist of fate, it wasn't the crowned Prince who was handed over the throne but the younger of the twins, Wanda Maximoff who was bequeathed the title Empress in a quiet ceremony. The crowned Prince seemed to vanish into thin air for several months, stirring up conspiracy as to how legitimately the young Wanda claimed the throne but Jean-Paul's reappearance at her side at a recent event has caused much of the rumor mill to come to rest.

The new Empress Maximoff, despite her aversion to the camera, is not adverse to action as she led a campaign through Europe against Victor von Doom to reclaim the territories of Europe. She is still new to the throne and the lack of opponents gave her an easy and early victory in a war whispered to be vengeance more then for the Empire's well being. Only by virtue of lack of casualties that the people didn't rail against her actions thus far.

The world is controlled by a single mutant empowering Empire controlled by Emperor Xavier. This global Empire, also known as Empire X came about after the nine years revolutionary war of mutants rising up against their human oppressors. In this fashion the world is largely as it was before, the government of territories split up between Governors that rule their domains but who answer to the Emperor.

Yet, somewhere along the line the world takes a twist. The humans were never forced into prison camps, instead due to the lack of population in the world after the take over, steps were taken to ensure this new mutant empire would thrive on the bones of the old world. As such willing human prisoners were instead moved into camps outside of cities into fenced off ghettos where they could take over the run down housing. This human cast of society is considered by most of Empire X nothing more then servants or slaves even.

Humans live in a poor world indeed, no education is provided which continues to breed the belief that humans are more like animals when compared to evolved mutant society. Most humans are illiterate, are not provided health benefits, often suffer due to unsanitary living and are largely encouraged to stay out of the public eye by mutant kind. Males are given vasectomies as to ensure they don't breed, but still retain their testosterone to ensure they are able to do hard labor. Humans are all tagged if they wish to leave their walled in ghettos, to track them and ensure they are back in by their curfew hours as assigned by their job out in the glorious Empire.

Now, there are means to get around this life style for the humans who desire to take the steps necessary to raise their position in society. A mutant(active or dormant) has the ability to save you from such a life by registering the human under their name and taking on the responsibility for caring for this human which usually means better care then that provided in the ghetto. Yet, there are horror stories that go through the ghettos that make many a human wary to ever enter into such a contract with a mutant who might take advantage of said human. Some human rights companies sign on employees and provide food, housing and medical care which is more then the ghettos can say but it is a dreary over-worked life that some have to suffer through to ensure they can survive in this unfavorable world.

Then there are honorable humans. Men can join a branch of service nicknamed Huey Corps where upon honorable service for a dozen years they are branded as a contributing member of society. This branch of the military has it's dark side as well given that Huey is often sent on the most dangerous assignments and is largely considered a throw away division so it lacks the vast funding some of the other sub divisions receive. Just the same, they are provided with basic needs to survive and the promise of more rights at the end of the road.

For females on the other hand they often prostitute themselves out to mutants in the hopes of pregnancy of a mutant child. If the child they give birth to is tested as a mutant then they are allowed to live outside the ghetto to care for the child until the child is a legal adult. This has caused some backlash in society as they are often discriminated against in trying to find housing or a job to support both themselves and the child in such a situation, but it doesn't stop the human females from pursuing a better life. There is also the sinister rumor of human mothers stealing mutant babies in the hopes to be granted freedom, but that is likely mutant supremacy propaganda against the lesser race.

Then, the rarest group of humans is the super humans and supernatural. Be it humans who signed their life over for genetic experimentation, those who managed to acquire super powers through some other means or a vampire. These meta humans are usually given the same standing as a dormant mutant in society as they are considered to be evolved from lesser humans. Aliens fall into this category.

    Mutant Power Levels:
  • Alpha - >10% In recent years the number of Alpha level mutants have improved, if only due to the number of mutants interbreeding. While still the smallest group(Omega’s not officially documented), they have been growing in number like the rest of the population and as this generation grows up more are finding their names in the papers. It is believed this percentage is also elevated by virtue of more Delta’s being given training.

  • Beta - >10% Just like Alpha and Gamma, powerful mutants are on the rise as evolution had had a field day when permitted to expand it’s horizons.

  • Delta - <25% The Delta category has been the most directly effected, while one in four are still of this power level, many more Delta’s were given the instruction needed to take their power to the next step.

  • Epsilon - 40% The Epsilon mutant, formerly believed to make up only twenty percent of mutant-kind have surged in number. Many Epsilon level mutants came out of the wood work when the resistance against humans started and even today they make up a bulk of mutant kind as they are the most common when coming from human stock.

  • Gamma - 15% Gamma level mutants are in many ways viewed by society as mutants who often lack a human appearance. These gamma’s who in old society might be considered “flawed” are making a come back and there is word of re-categorizing the “power scale“ by attributes less physical. Those with actual flaws likewise still exist in this group.
