Blackmire is a collective project of all the civilized realms. A prison, set out in the ruins of a fallen kingdom, long since become a swamp now for the lowest of criminals. Whether you are innocent or guilty matters not to the guards, because for better or worst, here you will stay for as long as the kingdom that sent you here demands. The swamp itself around the prison extends for as much as ten miles. Ten miles, of goblin and lizardmen infested swamp land. Not counting the crocodiles, carnivorous plants and various other creatures that serve as a natural defense for the would-be escapee. Within, it gets even worst. Those with an inkling of magic are chained with a special choke-collar, that constricts the more they use their power and more then one convicted mage has died in such a manner.

The guards themselves are alert and aided by some of the best their respective kingdoms in their assistance to craft this place have to offer and are armed with the latest in weapons and armor. Also included in the place are gargoyle guardians, who have been known now and then to devour prisoners who sought to break out at night along with attack dogs, the occassional battleclank and other, more insidious means.

The levels of the prison are as follows.

On the surface as you enter, your first view is that of the courtyard. Used as both a place for the prisoners to exercise as well as enjoy off-time when they get out of their cells. This is also where the majority of the troops are bunked in addition to the offices of the warden and his men. Directly below is the processing. Paperwork, items and the like are taken and the prisoners outfitted and sent to the prison levels themselves, which comes in four.

First level is for the relatively light sentenced people. Political prisoners and such, who actually have a hope for release. These are treated relatively well by the staff at least, and tend to be the best behaved.

More to follow....
