The Science Guild (Science): In a world rapidly changing, scientists are just as sought-after as mages and sometimes, combine the two. Somnium's Science Guild is a perfect example, having only acquired its Guild License some two years previous, and even now has grown into one of the major players among the guilds of Somnium. Alchemists seeking to refine their brews, Loremasters wishing to discuss their recent finds, all who seek to enlighten and refine their work for the benefit of all is welcome here. Currently led by a human woman named "Moria Von Dunkel". Wife of the former leader of the guild after a vivisection scandal forced him to retire in obscurity. Their chief rival tends to be the Guild of Magic and they get along best with the League of Iron, Guild of Debate and even the Song of Fayth for the medical advances they contribute though even then, they don't always see eye-to-eye.

The League of Iron(Metal crafting): Whether it’s the simple pleasure of forging a sword from base materials or combining metals to create the ultimate material, those of the League of Iron tend to gravitate towards either blacksmiths or Dwarfs. Indeed, it’s mostly Dwarfs who tend to be members though by all means this doesn't exclude you from membership. Current leader is a blind Dwarf female named "Silvia" who rumor has it, hails from the Dark Kingdom though she never denies nor confirms it. Her metal work, particularly with silver has become quite the collector’s item and is highly valued. The guild best gets along with The Guild of Science and the Golden Hall and tends to look down on the Guild of Debate and Song of Fayth for its "Shaky" foundations.

The Mages Guild(Magic): Since the beginning, magic has always been a fundamental part of the kingdom of Somnium and led by the Fairy Godmother herself, the guild has flourished and ended up as another central power, currently its leading guild though in the rapidly changing political landscape, that could very well change. Its chief rival is currently the Science Guild, and it gets along best with the Song of Fayth, the Realm Walker Society and the Guild of Debate. Its relationship with the Legion is somewhat stronger than the usual rivalry.

The Golden Hall (Banking and Merchants): The lifeblood of any realm is the currency they use, and Somnium is no exception to the rule. The Golden Hall's goals, short term and immediate is both profit and opportunity. Strong markets make a strong realm after all, and with this mandate in mind, the Golden Hall ever seeks to keep the economy flowing no matter what happens. They tend to get along best with the Guild of Debate for their love of wordplay, the World Stage for their performance techniques which assists them in gaining good deals and the League of Iron for their staunch dependability. Its members tend to look askance at the Song of Fayth for their volunteer work without profit, though many members are clever enough to see the long game in it. They look down most at the Realm Walker Society, believing that their adventurer-type members are too much of a loose cannon to rely on. The current head of the guild is a Halfling named Tommy Berks, a rich merchant-prince who earned his way to the top. Above all else, they despise thieves.

The Guild of Debate (Philosophy and History): While a relatively minor guild, nevertheless the Guild of Debate enjoys semi-popularity and enjoys most of all, those with an interest in history as well as those who enjoy philosophy. Unlike most guilds, the Guild of Debate despite the opinions of those outside of their guild, actually disregard the entire concept of rivalry. Debate requires more than one side and through dissertation, truth in its pure form is distilled. With that in mind, it’s not an uncommon thing to see students from all the guilds come to either study obscure topics or merely to engage in the debates that so characterize this strange guild. The current leader is a Munchkin refugee from Oz nicknamed "The Lion" by his peers and students, and indeed with his hair resembling a mane it’s not far off a description. His real name is Agag.

Song of Fayth(Healing and Religion): For the faithful, the pious and the ones who seek to better the lives of all around them, they often tend to gravitate towards the Song of Fayth. A guild dedicated to the various faiths of all around them and one which seeks to provide a place for them in their realm. In exchange for room and board, these wandering priests and clerics use their talents for volunteer work whether its teaching orphans algebra, working in their hospitals or even simply providing someone to be there if trouble occurs in the home. In addition to their usual vestments, most members tend to wear a special ring to better recognize members of the Song of Fayth from those who are just passing through. And while they have their critics who see faith in the gods as a waste of time, there is little doubt that their good works have made an impact on the realm. Like the Guild of Debate, they too tend to keep out of politics and are currently led by a half-elven woman named Syrena.

Realm Walker Society (Adventurers Guild): The Realm Walker Society is a rather unique one. With a lodge in almost every realm, they tend to attract some of the strangest members. Scarred warriors from distant lands, magus of incredible and mundane power, smiling brigands and pious paladins....In short, adventurers. In exchange for knowledge and artifacts which they distribute to proper authorities and museums the Realm Walker society offers benefits only discernible to members, not the least of which is a small, silver pin in the shape of a compass. The current highest ranking Realm Walker is actually leaving Somnium soon, and will be replaced by another. A fact which has garnered quite a bit of gossip as to who it is.

The World Stage (Performing Arts): All the worlds a stage, and every one of its inhabitant’s actors. Whether bard, actor or simple audience member, the World Stage tends to hold the monopoly on entertainment. Every opera, every play, every bard is registered to them, through them for all of Somnium. Its members tend to get along with everyone, regardless of what their "critics" think of them and with wit and charm, their people tend to insinuate among just about every class of person. Their current guild master is an excitable, talking badger named Brock with a taste for cigars.

The Legion(Military and Law): Serving as both a cadet branch for Somniums army as well as an additional force for the local City Watch, the Legion is a disciplined, military-based guild who teaches its members responsibility as well as martial techniques in preparation for future careers. Many a noble family has sent their unruly child here for both punishments as well as to shape them up, and many an officer in both the army and the watch can count itself a member of the Legions fraternity. They best get along with the Realm Walker society and look somewhat down upon the Science Guild as an amusing waste of resources. In regards to the Mages Guild, they've always had a strong rivalry though as of late, its seemed to have escalated. Their guild master is a retired army officer named "Captain Samuel" who taught three generations of the royal family in swordplay before taking up the post of Guild Master.

The Empty Hand (Thieves): Sneaky, underhanded and everywhere. The Empty Hand guild is more of an urban legend no thanks to its mysterious benefactor and despite the fact it’s for thieves, surprisingly not much people tend to report crimes as whatever items that they lost tend to return back to them eventually. Information is more their stock in trade though to contact a member is a difficult task.
