I'm sure you've read or heard of the recent Osama bin Laden statement that was broadcast. Well, not ALL of the statement actually made it on the air.

bin Laden also mentioned the sad state of affairs in the NHL. Few people know this, but he played Left Wing for the Taliban Titans in the Afghan Junior League. Scouts rated him as a sneaky sniper type with good hands but poor skating skills. (I suppose growing up in a desert doesn't help someone's skating ability as a youngster.) But anyway...

Two points he made were the Alexi Kovalev trade the once mighty Pittsburgh Penguins made to the New York Rangers. He said: "The 91-2 & 92-3 Penguins had it all. Their offensive style was not just exciting to watch but extremely successful. Their defence, led by Paul Coffee, took chances offensively and created many scoring opportunities. Great goaltending, too. Now, only Super Mario remains of what was once a dynasty in the making."

"Capitalism is ruining the NHL; the 70 million Dollar bloated Ranger payroll proves this and it will only get worse once they try to re-sign that capitalist infidel Kovalev next year." he was quoted as saying.

The second point he made was when he mentioned the Boston Bruins roller coaster ride this season of going from 1st place overall and best record in the NHL to flat-out stinking, now down to 3rd in the East and 6th place overall. "Allah be praised, but the Hub of Hockey (Boston) won't be seeing Lord Stanley's Cup this spring. Goaltending is good but the defense has more holes in it then my sandals and the team effort is often not there for 60 minutes. The Senator's are looking real good in the East, despite that they are nearly bankrupt. This proves that Capitalism is ruining professional hockey. Besides, they're from Ottawa and I really don't hate Canada that much. Yet ".

The clutching/grabbing center ice smothering type "trap" style (read NJ Devil's BORING strategy) defense wasn't noted. And Brett Hull's 700th career goal was strangely omitted from his remarks, making one ponder if he & Brett have had a falling out. As purists know, they roomed together in the minors.

Anyway, my point is that this jerk can talk shit all he wants, make threats, run his mouth (Brett Hull influence, no doubt) - but when he badmouths MY Bruins, well there's some things that people just won't stand for.

Let's just send these guys after him:

I hope when we finally yank this snake out of his cave we run his sorry ass over with a Zamboni and then trade his rights over to Nashville. No, Buffalo.
