Nearly anything goes on the site, however we do need to protect our members and the site itself. 1. Attacking, harassing or deliberately causing problems to anyone in the public chat room or the message board will be cause for banning. Please take it private, take it somewhere else, or simply leave. 2. Posting and/or Copy/Pasting any information off this site to any other site or into emails will be cause for banning. 3. Attempting to hack, flood, spam or harm the operation of the site in any way will be cause for banning. 4. No advertising other sites is allowed. All offenders will be held accountable for their own actions. Failure to comply to the rules WILL result in forfeiture of Membership. Penalties are carried out at the discretion of the Moderators, Lorrie or Ed. Please notify Lorrie or Ed if you wish to report abusive behavior. Moderators reserve the right to modify the site rules. So far, that’s worked very well - because you’ve all done remarkably well with it, I see no reason to change that policy. However, it is our responsibility to moderate the site and give everyone a fun place to chat that’s free of troublemakers that try to ruin it all for everyone. We’ve had to remove a small number of people that have tried to harm the site by logging in (or attempting to) under false names, trying to start fights with members and other serious actions. Lorrie and I have the option to boot someone for any time period we feel is fair (from 1 second up to something like 2 weeks) or we can just put them on the list of permanent banned. We have booted people for a time period AND we have banned a few people. I can assure you that people are not permanently banned from this site without justifiable cause. And once a person is on that list, they won’t come off. If you’ve used this site often enough, I think you’ll agree that our policy of letting you police yourselves - but not being hesitant to drop the hammer on someone trying to hurt the site (in conjunction with the security features built into the site) works pretty effectively. The site runs very smooth and the few incidents of trouble we’ve had are extremely minor. There’s an old Yankee saying that says “if it aint broke, don’t fix it.” Amen to that.
