Who here (besides me) finds it very disturbing that our current President is so gung-ho with sending our troops into war - WHEN - (let me finish, please) when it was his time to serve, he ducked the Viet Nam draft by hiding in the National Guard?

He just likes "playing" war at a safe distance. IF it were mandatory our President serve as a General in a war NO WAY would we have so many wars.

Amen, Lorrie. He didn't fight when he was much younger AND had the chance, lol, he sure as hell won't be now. Osama cries tears of joy on how wonderful it is that others die for Islam, but his sorry ass is safe. Same with Bush. Or any other "leader". Every cause is worth dying for, as long as it's someone else doing the dying. Stir up the band & wave your flags, Mr. Bush. Send out your video messages, Osama.

To volunteer to go to war, to defend this country from attack, and to risk the chance of getting mentally messed up, disabled or killed, is an honorable choice. Many have made this choice, in the past, and we all owe them all a great debt of gratitude.

To volunteer to go to war, not to defend this country but instead risk life and limb on a bullshit war based on bullshit premises by bullshit politicians to further their own bullshit agendas is dumb. D-U-M-B blindfaith dumb. Viet Nam was dumb. Iraq is even worse.

This Iraq war isn't about protecting us. Or protecting freedom. Or WMD's. That's all bullshit lies our government feeds us to incite the patriotic spirit within many of us so we'll blindly follow them... right to death... with them safely hidden behind us waving the flags. That tactic is as old as humankind and the countless wars we've fought, all the way back to when we were swinging in trees.

It's all bullshit. And needless. If anything, this Iraq war is provoking Islams' fevered extremists - not stopping them. It fuels the fires of hatred. It feeds into a lot of the propaganda they spew about us.

And when we get bogged down like we are and are unable to stop insurgents from suicide bombings in Iraq like we are, it shows them and others how severely limited ANY military is in dealing with stopping an enemy that doesn't wear a uniform or take established positions behind lines on a map. The job we are asking from our military in Iraq is a nearly impossible job. Both sides know this.

This war proves to our current enemies (and other potential enemies in the future) just how difficult is it to stop determined people dressed as civilians and operating from within the general population from attacking the best equipped, best trained and most sophisticated military machine on the planet. It's teaching them that, even with our technology, we are very much vulnerable by fighting their type of war. It shows them that should they attack us and provoke a retaliatory response, they can hang in there and fight a war of attrition. They learn and perfect tactics. And each bomber that succeeds, each roadside checkpoint attack that spills US blood, every successful sniper attack, each time they succeed at all - gives them the hope they can drive us out - or defeat us.

That's the messages we send.

To date 07/29/06:

2,571 US Military Personnel Dead
18,777 US Military Personnel Wounded

For what?

Ed, you opened up a nice pit of vipers (no, not Dodge Vipers...LMAO) w/ politics...it needed to be done tho. I fargin hate bush aka BUllSHit anymore. The way he so blithely dismissed embryonic stem cell research w/ a simple stroke of his pen more than infuriated me. It truly saddened me for future generations!

Once limp dick gets out of office, stem cell research will simply EXPLODE, in this country! Great things WILL happen! But think of all the lost time. :*(

Concerning Iraq IMO: I'm not privy to any U.S. govt intel?, if such a thing actually exists. (One must wonder) Back in March 2004 I believed, as most Americans did, that there were WMD's in great quantities in Iraq that needed to be safely disposed of.........oh crap I'll finish this in abt an hour......

ok, I'm back............I dunno if there were great quantities of WMD's in Iraq, maybe they hid them in syria *shrug*...sadaam hussein seems like a WMD, but in his own twisted, wicked ways Iraq seemed to have some order when he was in charge.

Who expected all those insurgents and the way they farged up everything?

We'll just be fortunate if an un-civil war doesn't break out in Iraq. I wonder how this will be looked back upon in the future.

Just think if Iran and Syria took possession of Iran's enormous crude oil supplies...they be one large and sick alliance that the world would have to deal w/!

What WMD's? The ones he got from us to use on Iran? :D He was our pal, then. Until the Gulf War when he invaded poor defenseless Kuwait (invaded on our mixed messages Bush sr sent). Suddenly, he's an evil despot, public enemy #1, gassing his own people! But if you gas Iranians, not only won't we care - we'll help you do it!

Speaking of WMD's... How about the converted fighter airplane Iraq supposedly had that we heard so much about, capable of flying over a city like NYC and spraying us with gas? Oh no!

Wait.... Iraq has no navy to speak of and certainly no way to refuel airplanes either in midair or on land bases outside Iraq. How could a fighter fly from Iraq to here?

It doesn't matter, he's evil. Kill him. Free Iraq!

I wonder why nobody likes us?

Why doesn't any other country in the world like us? Have we given the world any reason to LIKE us? Not recently, we haven't. Not since WWII we haven't. OK, maybe our movies are somewhat of a U.S. savior...and according to Jelli, Little Richard in the new Geico commercial. :-) I'd be amiss in not mentioning baseball, football, Elvis, Jessica Simpson and Vegas...not necessarily in that order.

Every missile that Israel fires toward Lebanon/hezbollah is blamed on us. Should we threaten Israel w/ cessation of their huge allowance from the U.S. until they cease fire and make nice w/ Lebanon? IMO, that seems worth consideration.

We know damn well that the U.S. is going to be stuck w/ the bill on rebuilding both countries!

You hit the nail on the head, Gary.

Right now, tonight on the news, people in Lebanon are chanting "Death to Israel, Death to America!"

This country is offering Lebanon $50 million to help rebuild wartorn southern Lebanon when they'll hate us just as bad as they hate us now? That's just totally wasted millions better spent here. We know full well that Lebanon is run by hezbollah/iran/syria.

A mad dawg!

Well Ed, by spending it "here", I meant here @ the Crypt. ;-D That's gotta be more than a million per member...or maybe put it all together and build a true physical Crip Crypt. Or, then again, there's the philanthropy route...give til it hurts. Or, split the 50 mil between Lorrie, you and Candace. But I don't much care for that idea. LMCAO

TEHRAN, Iran (AP)--Iran's president on Wednesday proposed a debate with President Bush at this month's U.N. General Assembly, saying it would be the perfect place for an uncensored discussion that the whole world could watch.
The White House had no immediate response.

--------------------------------------------------------

dawg wonders if the White House ever considered the words "yes" or "no" as a response or maybe just annihilate Iran's nuclear sites.

dawg also wonders...lol...if Bush can correctly pronounce the word "nuclear" after all these yrs. NOT "NUCULAR", DUMBASS!

I wonder if the "U.S. govt." wants us crips, who are urinary incontinent, and wear legbags, to empty our legbags before being screened for a commercial flight.

LMCAO....Hell, we could have anything in there...lol...even a refreshing beverage! Or, heavens no, a flammable liquid...oh nooo...lol

And what about colostomy bags?

Vote every one of these motherfuckers out. These cocksuckers have forgotten who they work for, and have gotten way too comfortable in their cushy jobs.

Be seeing you,
