I hate to be the ragger. But i have a tendancy of not knowing when to shut my mouth, or stop typing in this case. But i have a feeling that alot of people are in the same boat as me on this mindset. I do like the idea of this Carson waging war against the mutants. But it seems that there are only a select few who are in on this plot. I think it needs to be better planned so that the entire chat should be involved with some of the processes of the rp. I know it is going to be a big battle, but you shouldent expect that people who were left out on the small rp's which build up to the final thing to participate when the time comes if they were not included in the suspense rp's.

There are more x-men than just Kurani, Beast, and Storm. And i think that there should have been a post on the board specifying when this bombing rp was going to take place. And also, stumbling into the chat to find that the mansion has been all shook up, with a very vuage post on the message board dosent seem like enough.

I know that luke comes on very late due to time differences. And i know that some people are unable to participate. But a little warning, and possibly an attempt to work around sceduals would be appreciated. And i also am aware that some rp plans are just way to good to pass the opritunity to play asap... But itchy trigger fingers often piss alot of people off.

Just a thought. I could be the only one who is insane here....

Ya know, it would be nice for people to put up information about the current plots, what's going on, and what has happened so far so people like me, who's bairly around due to work, can know what's been missed... Yeah, I know I was gone for a while there, but I'm back and would like to know what's going on....

I agree with Mak, totally. It's kinda like the war that can't be fought if ya know what I mean. Like we're all just suppoused to sit back and watch until a superweapon is launched.

Okay, first of all I have been very VERY open and trying to get a lot of people involved in this RP, if there was a problem, you should have come to me first Mak. I know how it is to feel like you're being excluded from an RP, it's not a good feeling. There are not just a few select people in this plot, this plot is open for anyone and everyone that wants to be a part of it. Thus why I have been making posts on the board saying what Carson is doing and what's going on. If you don't know what's going on....check the boards under News. That's what it's there for!

Second, a lot of people have a lot of ideas and have contacted me about them for this RP plot, we have been working through them trying to get things set up. But we aren't going to make a plan like "takes Carson out exactly this way" because that's no fun and there's nothing interesting about it if you already know exactly what is going to happen in the RP.

I'm not leaving anyone out of the small RPs. It seems to me like a lot fo people are talking about Carson, they just haven't had like one on one interaction with him...not a lot of people have.

As for the bombing, it wasn't planned and no one was told about it specifically because that's real life!! You don't know in advance when something is going to happen. And yes, the mansion would be all shooken up, so clearly it worked quite well. It's supposed to be confusing. You're not looking at this in a real life setting, and that's what you need to do. There was a post on the board about the attack on Lockridge, and the only reason that Kurenai, Hank, and Storm were there was because they had been sent on a mission to the town because it was having a rather high number of mutant births. (Children who clearly looked mutated.) They just happened to be there at the time it was hit. They didn't know it was going to happen, heck, I didn't even really tell them.

As for Luke, this RP started with me and him, so please don't think that I'm suddenly just ignoring him when he's one of my good friends and came up with a lot of this in the first place. There has only been one attack so far, with the fear that another one is going to take place. I'm not leaving people out, if you feel left out then do something about it. Get in touch with me. I'm online all the time. My AIM is EmiAingeal. Just drop me a line and tell me if you have any ideas or anything.

I've never done a big plot like this before...I didn't even really think it would get this big. I just brought in a human char because people were complaining that there were too many mutants. I thought it would be fun to play a politician, and I needed someone to be the father of one of my characters. It just ended up that everyone started hating Carson and this plot simply spilled out of that. It has been worked on a lot since then and I do have plans for what's to come, but again they aren't set in stone.

And further more, if you guys are going to complain about feeling like you're just sitting back and watching as a superweapon is launched...well why don't you DO something about it. Get organized, start a thread for that instead of starting one that's just complaining. I'm the villian here...I'm not going to organize you all to attack my own character. Start a thread for that and figure out what you all want to do...I'm not controlling this RP, it's open to everyone and everyone is welcome to put in their ideas and comments. All I see is people saying "I'm going to kill Carson" but no one has ever contacted me wanting to run an RP that even attempts it. If you want to do something, TELL ME! Other wise, you're the one who's making your character not a part of this whole plot.

I don't know if that's going to piss people off or not, I hope not. I'm the one that tries to avoid arguments and stuff in the chat. Hopefully I'm someone that everyone likes, and if you don't like me...I'm sorry if I did something to upset you. I was tired of being left of out RPs in other chats so I just started running stuff in this room. We were doing this all before the room died you know...and then it came back to life and Luke and I decided to keep going with our plot. So that's what happened and it just kept getting bigger. So if you want to know what's going on, check the boards! If there is another attack, it will be on the boards. And all that really happened to the mansion was that the little kids were moved to the Mansion bunker (which was used in the comics if anyone reads them) so I figured it would be alright to use in the RP.

I think that's all I have to say for now...I'm sure I'll probably get yelled at or something for saying it. But look...I really don't want to leave anyone out of this RP. If you feel left out, just contact me, believe me...I can come up with something to get you involved.

*cracks knuckles*

Allright. I am thinking that my thread starter was taken a little bit in the wrong way, and was NOT meant to single people out. So this is why i did not go directly to the individuals. That, and because i dont think it is fair to exclude people from a possible conversation, or war, when it directly involves the chat.

Like i said to emi in a chat we had in aim, a little bit of notice, even if the rp is meant as a "shake you all up suprize to expect more", should be warned. It is so so so frustrating to come home one night, all late and fucked up from work, to come into the chat and see that holy hell has hit the fan and people are dispersed everywhere. Sure, you dont have to post all the details if you want it to be a super suprize, just a simple "People. Just to let you know on monday evening we are seriously going to fuck shit up. It is a closed rp, but be aware that something WILL happen that night. It is planned, adminly rule has given us the 10-4 little buddy, and a post on the board will follow explaining how bad shit is fucked up"

And the feeling of being left out is also due to the fact that things seriously need to be established in the chat. Who is where, who is not fucking who, and who's duities are what. Cannons need to take a hellofalot more responsability *and i speak for myself because i suck so bad at this one* and there needs to be a shitload more communication. Remember the rule, any ooc information cannot be used ic unless stated so. So by posting on the board a plan, a team idea, all that other fancy pants shit wont cause your team to be found out, and if people play off the ooc information illegaly, i belive the rp can be omited.

Please. someone take away my coffee. My fingers hurt....

I can understand that people feel they want to be included in things, and that organization is necessary.

But in my personal experience, organization in rp often does not work. For instance, I have been rping here for weeks now and with exception of Lumpy and Luke, I havent even seen anyone play Xmen other than Emi, Storm, and I. It doesnt make things easy to include others when others arent showing up. Also, it takes any spontenaity out of rp when you have to post your plans up a certain amount ahead of time. Lockridge, specifically, was a very spontaneous thing. We were going on a research mission and last minute decided it would be a good setting to start something that EVERYONE could benifit from, rp wise. Ultimately, Lockridge did not have a direct physical effect on anyone. other than scaring people, it didnt have any effect except on NPC characters. Though it is possible this should not have been a closed rp, ultimately it was backstory and little more.

As for the evacuation of the mansion, that isnt "scattering". The children were moved to a safe facility connected to the mansion itself. IC, it was felt that it was important to do so immediately, as they did not know if there would be another attack. Since no one else was PLAYING in the mansion at the time, the decision and organization were left up to Storm and Kurenai. In the end, this is a matter of not waiting around to act. If we put up a board thread and waited for people to respond or waited for a specific time that people could be in, then our characters would be unplayable until such a time as they wouldnt have an IC reason to sit around.

I am not saying that Mak doesnt have some points. But I do not think that Emi's points should be ignored. I think spontenaity should not have to be compromised, as what would it gain to wait around? A lot of people have unmatching schedules, or irregular schedules that allow them only certain times they can rp that dont necessarily match those of the ones organizing. I do think that, if there is time between the conception of the plot, and the ability to play the plot, yes, there should be a post. But otherwise its like saying that Lockridge should have been postponed to see if others could join...but then shouldnt that also be the same for Brotherhood attacks? where is the line drawn between what must be given forewarning and what can be spontaneous?

"where is the line drawn between what must be given forewarning and what can be spontaneous?"

I think that one was where the line should have been drawn *holy shit feels like she is the only one who had a problem with this. Where are the rest of you* When it effects the world, or has the possibility of effecting the world, thats when the line should be drawn. Where input should be gathered. Yea the silly brotherhood attacking the mansion whoopdeedoo, they do it all the time. Its something that the mansion is prepared for. But bio weapons killing masses in a city? jeeeeesus thats a pretty big deal *lol*

I have been around a while, and have witnesed so many planned rp's it is sick. The ones i see fail are the ones where not everyone was included. The ones i see succeed are the ones where people are confadent enough to join in the process and knowlagable on what is going on.

Hrm, well as far as being spontaneous goes, I think that all really boils down to the characters you're playing, or what exactly it is you're doing. It is one thing if two or three original characters get into a skirmish, or something similar, that really only has ramifications for those involved. But, when you're playing someone of prominence within the ranks of the Mansion (or Brotherhood), your actions carry alot more weight and meaning to them in relation to the rest of the chat. The same applies to essentially anything that has a significant impact upon all, or at least a good portion of the characters in the chat. As much as you may feel the urge to pour out your creative feelings right when they hit you, its probably best to hold off a bit and consult others. That doesn't necessarily mean having to get permission from everyone in the chat via a message on here, but just giving a head's up to those who also play characters of prominence who might have a say.

Um...I think thats all o.o

*whispers* For the record, Lockridge wasn't a city, it was a town. A very small town.
