This chat was created because the old one was deleted. As such, we will be starting over completely. If you have a plot that was important to you, please contact the admins to request that it continue where it left off.

If you used to play a character and would like to play him or her again, send in an application saying so with your contact information. An admin will go over it with you.

Remember, we're just getting this set back up, so things are going to be difficult.

----------------------

In the midst of the third millennium, mutants are growing in number... as are the hate groups opposed to them. Professor Charles Xavier's school and refuge for mutant children has been receiving more new arrivals than ever before. Families have been rejecting their own, some going so far as to kill their own kin should they hold the mutant gene.

The peaceful solution is not shared by all. Some find Xavier's ways to be weak and even pathetic. Magneto has issued a death threat to the President of the United States himself should the mutants continue to be persecuted and prosecuted. In response, the Mutant Registration Act has been issued. Sentinals are on every street corner and mutants in our fine country are in more danger than ever before.

Who will you join? In the end, will you join the war or maintain peace? Will you help destroy the next generation of mutants... or be one of them?
 Just an added note..

This chat is set at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. Located at 1407 Graymalkin Lane, just outside of Salem Center, Westchester County, New York, the original ancestral Xavier estate was built in the late 1700's. Currently owned by Charles Francis Xavier, this sprawling mansion was erected near Breakstone lake and serves as a school, as well as the secret headquarters of the outlaw band of mutants known as the X-Men. The estate was originally named The Xavier School For Gifted Youngsters, but changed its name to The Xavier Institue for Higher Learning with the opening of a new school in Snow Valley, Massachusetts. Since the recent closing of the Massachusetts Academy, the original name was restored, although due to the reconstruction of the Mansion the name has once more been changed to The Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. Early in 2004 the Mansion was destroyed by a brainwashed Franklin Richards, a student at Xavier's. During it's reconstruction the Mansion took on a bold new appearance, the overall Mansion is in the shape of an "X", while it boasts two seperate dorm buildings and a maze. Although the outside looks modern, the inside has retained its 1700's style decor with oak-panneled walls and wooden floors. The mansion still houses its state of the art facilities for the education, training and protection of mutants.

As with the original mansion, the X-Men are allowed to personalize their living quarters. However, the students are required to share dorm rooms, such as Wallflower and Wind Dancer, both who have become good friends and don’t mind the situation. Sometimes, though, the students who are forced to share rooms are not as close, which often leads to conflict and misunderstandings. Dust and Surge are a good example of that.

In the new mansion, nothing is the same anymore. Everything has been updated and modernized. For example, the new and improved Danger Room has now an observation hub on top of the room, from where the entire room can be observed, as opposed to the control booth of the old room that was built into one of the side walls.

There’s also a cafeteria to feed the large student body, built under a huge glass dome. The old mansion was not suited at all to handle this many people’s different needs, but there are no such problems with the new cafeteria anymore.

SECURITY:
Cerebro Security - Finger pads (reconfigurable for other races) conduct expressive body field measurements that identify individuals. The Lo-Res Antenna info plus the Finger Field sensor input is monitored throughout Cerebro use- any irregularities could be a sign of deception or psi-intrusion. The Cerebro User List is subject to periodic review and battlefield update.

X-Men Smart Key - Most secured areas of the manison are outfitted with these "smart keys", which are basically a finger pad which scans the thumbprint and validates the ID in the Master Control.

Security Doors - Constructed of adamantium-melded steel to protect the most sensitive areas of the sub-basement complex, these specially designed doors with bio-molecular locking mechanisms respond only to authorized personnel (Xavier & Senior Staff).

War Room Security - Security in this area is relatively light because of the difficulty of reaching it. Individual stations have constant monitoring for user integrity. Sensitive information sources, such as The Mission Planning Globe and the Training Coordination center are "Key Switches". (See X-Men Smart Key, above)

Danger Room Security - Danger Room doors and walls are primarily constructed of a Nickel-Titanium alloy. Layered within these walls are localized force-fields triggered by master Control Intruder Detection Systems. Similarly, dedicated electromechanical security devices regulate entry to the Ready Room Elevator and Control Room.
