Volunteers for the Exploratory mission and handles willing to run for Mayor/City Council needed.

Post below with your intentions for your handles on Eden, and feel free to register new handles on Eden as well since we added 300 residents from Scorched Earth recently. The election is on June 5th and the First Exploratory Mission was from May 14th to May 26th.

The Second Exploratory Mission will begin on June 14th through the 28th.

[ And so it was that about three hundred refugees from a 1950's era Earth, Hellboy's 'Scorched Earth' arrived in, of all things, former Nazi Flying Saucers. Notable among them were a pair of archaeologist adventurers, both named Henry Jones. Both Henry Senior and "Indiana", as he was calling himself, had decided that exploring an entirely new world that was seemingly free of the struggle against the Cult of The Old Ones was an excellent idea. After their arrival, the idle construction crews were eager to start building neat little rows of houses with picket fences for them. Haven was turning into a real melting pot - one section very Old West, another, Chinese influenced, another, Medieval, and still another, about 21st century American, not to mention the Japanese themed restaurant and the Kugenin Dojo, and of course, the advanced tech area that the Plumbers who'd decided to stay on Eden built for themselves. And so far, so good. Crime was mainly bar fights and silly arguments because so far, everything was being provided for them. But they were getting restless. Most of these folks were adventuresome types, and thus craved adventure, now that their lives weren't under constant threat, they were up for some new discoveries and maybe an occasional threat even? Parties were being formed up to begin exploring feet-on-ground in ways that no overhead ship or satellite scan could ever simulate. There was something visceral about just being there, as opposed to watching some video feed with atmospheric and time data ticking off in one corner of the screen. Adventure is what the people of Haven wanted, and soon, very soon, they would get it. ]

[ Between Rick O'Connell and Denver Jessop both poking and prodding at various of the citizenry, they were able to get enough of them excited about the prospect of electing a Mayor and a City Council for actual plans to be made. Of course time for a short campaign had to be provided for, and details hammered out so it was bascially decided that there would be four City Council members and a Mayor, though everyone who wanted would simply run for Mayor, and the biggest vote-getter would be Mayor, and the next four runners-up would be the City Council. It was also decided that the elections would be held again annually, on the first tuesday of June, which meant that this year, the election would be held on June 5th. In the meanwhile, since there was no official power structure yet, Rick O'Connell put up posters and his own announcement - Volunteers were being sought out for a two-week foray into Eden's wilderness. The first nine days of this two-week trip were going to be spent going in ever widening concentric circles around the area of Haven, exploring any anomalies or phenomena they could, and the last few days would be making a beeline directly back to Haven for debriefing and resting up after the trip. The planned timeframe for his trip was May 14th to the 26th, and signups were to be accepted at the Sheriff's office for those interested in going. ]

I would like to throw Kurumi in for being part of the City Council. I think her ability to judge what is necessary and right to be an valuable asset.
