The Narrator 1:36pm, November 16, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | For those who have been involved in the past UWT's, you'll remember the trope thread by our own Opa. Well, here it is again. So! Simple rules. You can post about your own characters, or others in regards to the tropes you think would fit them. But you must explain why as well. I'll start off I suppose. All trope names can be found on TVtropes.org
Galen Marek: Wow, where do we begin?
The Captain: And how. Commanding the Night Fury as well as apparent de-facto leader of the main heroic group, the former "Starkiller" is now learning what it really means to be a good leader as well as keep everyone as alive as possible.
The Black Knight: His former method of leadership, in the "Darth Stalker" timeline.
Authority Equals Asskicking: The former version of Galen Marek once took down demi-gods, sorcerers, archdemons and a large assortment of creatures and beings too numerous to name. After his mind-wipe, he's slowly gaining experience again....And is now armed with the Godkiller sword, awarded him by Tomi Shishido.
Person of Mass Destruction: Galen Marek. Need we say more?
Papa Wolf: Galen takes his responsibility as Captain seriously. Woe betide you if you harm his crew or Force forbid, his loved ones.
Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Upon their first meeting, Cirno of Touhou fame dubs Galen "Klutzknight" due to his supposed clumsiness and he makes no effort to correct her. Even going so far as to relish the name in odd moments. He also is easily embarrassed in certain circumstances.
Estrogen Brigade Bait: All the girls want the Cap'n apparently.
Battle Harem: Terra, Gloria and Rayne.
Chick Magnet: And how.
Eyepatch of Power: Subverted. Used to wear one of these, until gaining the upgraded cybernetic eye from Azmuth.
Socially Awkward Hero: Just ask Angel.
EDIT: These are just my personal opinion, feel free to choose your own for whoever.

The Narrator 1:18am, November 18, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Cirno: Our Resident Ice Fairy.
Immortal Immaturity: Supposedly hundred of years old, and acts like an innocent, if somewhat bratty seven year old. Though as time went on, she seems to have grown out of it to a small extent.
Break the Cutie: In leaving her world, Cirno is slowly discovering an entire new way of life for others, as well as learning about a darker side to the multiverse. Notable instances include her mind-rape at the hands of Randall Flagg, making a subsequent deal with him that reduced her to tears when she realized what she did, and captured and tortured by another which still affects her.
Not Growing Up Sucks: 60 years old, and stuck in child form. A frustration Flagg's used to his advantage.
Parental Substitute: Galen and Terra.
Beserk Button: "GIVE HIM BACK!" |
| |
The Narrator 1:42am, November 18, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | The Night Fury Crew
Space Western: Duh.
Army of Thieves and Whores: And rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswagglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers, and Methodists! Basically, every survivor of a Wild West Zombie world is now a member of the crew.
Badass Army: Zombie Survivor Cowboys, in Space and driving Mechas. A thousand plus in total. And this is just the CREW.
Badass Normal: They don't need superpowers to kill people. Just gun. And if that don't work....More gun.
Those Two Guys: Biggs and Wedge. |

Opa 4:37am, November 18, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | S'alright, tropes for a few of me characters. First, addin some for Cirno:
An ice person: Duh
Badass boast: She's the strongest fairy in Gensokyo, and don't anyone forget it!
Berserk button: a few. What Narrator said, insulting her intelligence, treating her like a kid...
Blood knight: In nonlethal combat, but'll insult the likes of Yuuka Kazami to the face in hopes of provoking a fight.
Calling your attacks: Spellcards. They don't have to work like this. Cirno doesn't care/is not aware
She got better: Unfortunately for a pair of bounty hunters, the rest of the party was unaware of this
Chaotic good: Falls squarely into this alignment.
Leeroy Jenkins: The whole incident with the ring
The ditz: somewhat. growing out of it, eeeever so slowly
Fantastic racism: friggin demons.
Immortal life is cheap: has this attitude about herself, much to a few of her teammate's chagrin.
implacable fairy: Partially because of the above, but just as much because she really hates losing, and really really hates bad things happening to friends or people who aren't strong enough to defend themselves
Indy ploy: Not the shiniest snowflake in the blizzard booksmarts wise, but she thinks on her feet in fights and pranks fairly well
harmless freezing: very, very averted
No hold bars beatdown: Twas a bad day to be a Dalek
Power incontinence: the temperature around her is always a few degrees cooler, more so if she's excited/pissed off/both
Rapid Aging: No one's even sure if fairies are supposed to age, but due to Flagg's magic she went from looking 8 or 9ish to looking 18 to 19ish.
More dakka: Its a bit hard to portray just how much ice Cirno throws out, but she's a character from a game genre called 'bullet hell' for a reason |

Opa 5:03am, November 18, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | And now John Marston
The atoner: On the night fury instead of taking his family somewhere safe as payback to Terra and Galen for saving said family
Badass Normal
Deadpan snarker: Idealists bring this out in him
Genre savvy
Determinator
The Gunslinger
Handicapped Badass: almost blind in his left eye. Doesn't change the fact that he's one of the best shots on the night fury
heroic neutral
Knight in Sour armor: Doesn't have too fond a view of the multiverse in general, but is helpin to save it anyways |
| Terra Branford |
Terra 7:42am, December 02, 2011 [Edit] [Delete] | Conveniently an Orphan: Yeah, mother killed and father abducted and experimented on for a decade and a half while she herself was raised and slave crowned to be a perfect soldier...
World Of No Grandparents: She has no grandparents, unless you consider Ramuh, who's affectionately placed himself in that role.

The Idealist
Lady of Black Magic
Cat Girl/cute monster girl
Half-Human Hybrid

broken bird: Self confidence simply does not exist
Cute witch: imho
every girl is cuter with hair decs: Almost all touhous sport headgear of sorts, Alice gets the frilly head ribbon

witch species: 'magician' is a type of youkai
Willfully weak: Never fights at full power for fear of what losing then would mean |

Drama Llama 5:14am, January 14, 2012 [Edit] [Delete] | Dr. Mundo
Affably Evil: Can torture you without a second thought, but won't hesitate to break off to save the crumpets.
Regularly Scheduled Evil: Serial Killer from his home world, all in the name of Science.
Serial Killer: See above.
Villain Team Up: Subverted. Dr. Fowl and Dr. Mundo both get along quite well, and the only time either one has a problem is concerning the last crumpet.
Mad Scientist: Specialist in chemistry and pain.
Hulk Speak: "MUNDO SMASH!!!"

| My Characters |
Sean 4:03am, February 09, 2012 [Edit] [Delete] | Here's some that apply to several OCs of mine, at the very least the ones that apply for this chat.
Leon Isuka:
-Anti Hero: He got nicer as time went on
-Badass Scarf: Associated with him as much as his goggles
-Character Alignment: From True Neutral at first, then to Neutral Good
-Chaste Hero: Most of the time.
-Counterpart Comparison: I totally did not intend this Leon to share traits with Squall Lionheart. Both being brooding loners with a tendency to say "whatever" a lot. The fact that Squall uses Leon as an alias doesn't help.
--Not to mention Wolverine, Leon didn't even have the claws when I first made him.
-Dark and Troubled Past: Doesn't brood over it that much though.
-Doesn't Like Guns
-Half Human Hybrid: Is partially comprised of binary code.
-Ineffectual Death Threats: Makes death threats often to anyone who annoys him, but never follows through on them.
-The Goggles Do Nothing
-Axel Rat:
-Adorkable
-Animal Stereotypes: Subverted and lampshaded. Prefers to go for the more heroic qualities of rats and dislikes the stereotype of rats being diseased scumbags
-Calling Your Attacks: Most of my guys do it, but Axel does it the most often to a fault
-Determinator
-Duel Wielding: His Twin Triggers
-Hot Blooded
-Idiot Hero: Although he does have moments of "Obfuscating Stupidity"
-Keet: Occasionally gets like this
-Name's the Same: No way related to Kingdom Hearts...or Megaman X...or Guilty Gear..or....(goes on and on like this)
-Rapid Fire Fisticuffs: Does this fairly often and he kicks pretty fast too.
-Verbal Tic: "Yano", "And such", "Yo", "Oy"
-Walking Shirtless Scene: Contrary to his pic used in chat Axel actually leaves his Hawaiian shirt unbuttoned at all times.
Nathanial Declaw:
-Authority Equals Asskicking
-Badass
-Badass Longcoat: Strips it off once he gets serious.
-Blood Knight: His goal is a world where only the strong survive.
--So also a "darwinist", obviously
-Evil Scars: Under his coat
-Lawful Evil
-Magnificent Bastard
-Manipulative Bastard
-The Syndicate: The M Syndicate
--Can also be considered a "nebulous evil organization"
-Take Over the World: Of Course
-Villian Decay: Has fallen to the side without as much major plotlines going for him now, not to mention playing second banana to recent villains.
-Xanatos Gambits/Roulettes: Has used these quite a bit
