Alright. With all the latest deaths but suicide bombings, suicides, and all the crap going on with Iraq, this question is very important.

"Are violent games, music, movie's, and television shows responsible for making people kill themselves or fellow humans?"

When a child commits suicide, the parents blame the music they listen to cause it is too violent and it encouraged them to do it. Do you believe this is true?

When a teenage goes to into a school and shoots people, the parents blame the shows they watch cause it is so violent and shows them that shooting people is glorious. Do you agree?

Many different people believe that both statements are true, while other people believe that they are a load of crap. Which side are you on and why?

There's an excellant book by a man named Frank Perrati you need to read.

To sum it up:

When kids kill each other it's because of the abuse they suffer from the other kids, and that's true.

You have a right to an education, not the right to go to school and get walked all over and beat up.

So it's the kids who create the problem, and the parents and administration/authority who ignore it.

People have it "IN" them. IN is the anger, the revenge, the bad. They also have the good, the niceness, and kindness.

What they choose to do with it...Is the choice. Can music, television and media encourage it? Big YES

If you look deeper into psychology, it is noted that the genes are carried out through family DNA. If you're parents are alcholics, chances are good, you will also. Same thing for other psychotic deseases, as depression, Scitzophrenzia. Just to name a few.

With music and TV, killing video games..it can raise anger to levels where children and adults rage out and kill or hurt. Look at gangs as well, where the members are told to it--or oust ya.

To those that don't get this post or think it's all Bullshit- go read the DSM III. It's written and proven.

Not responsible for misspelled words!

I must agree that part of the problem is music, games, T.V. and movies. But not all of it. A large part is the parents. They should know what kind of music, games, movies and T.V. their kids are exposed to. The parents should set the standards for what is right and wrong.

While yes, I do think that movies, tv, video games, ect, can/may help in encouraging folks to kill, commit suicide, and what not, you got to remember that this is only the case for a select few indiviuals. These people are the ones that already have some sort of deep rooted problem(s) already. No person, in their right state of mind, would take tv, movies, or video games seriously. That's because a Sane person knows the difference between reality and fiction.

With that said, I don't think these things should be blamed for the violence that's happening today. People should look past these things and try to figure out what the real problem was. Whether it was being outcasted by their peers, abused by parents, peers, other people, or something else, nothing is going to be triggered by forms of entertainment first. At least, I don't believe so.

Y'know, I have this crazy notion that there was violence between humans before TV or Radio was even invented. Look at eary man, they spent the better part of each day battering the crap out of each other. Why? were the cave painting a bad influence?

We simply do it because it's in our nature, not because TV told us to do it.

Violence is a product of our environment. Placing the blame on a scapegoat such as television or videogames is just evading the truth... that WE are responsible.
