As most of you have by now been informed, I plan to update the setting to before the Vong War Crisis. I know shifting an RPG in time usually has queer, and unbenificial results, but the reasons for it outweigh the bad in my opinion. I'll give a brief summary of them here as well, not that I feel the need to defend myself to you guys - I know you understand - I simply want you to see what's going on here.

1) Vong? What Vong? None of us refer to the Vong War, anyway. Most of us just ignore it for whatever reasons. Now, we don't have to worry about playing off something that's on the cutting edge of the SW literature. (Which plays into point #2.)

2) The Cutting Edge. Anything this far ahead requires all of us to keep abreast of all the new literature. I, for one, simply don't have the time to read that much material a day. I'm sure many of you feel the same way. (Actually, I know many of us haven't read any of the novels. Some haven't even seen the movies.) So, a return to a familliar battleground would be beneficial to all of us, despite the difficulties inherrant in such a dramatic change (and time-wise, the alteration really isn't that much) - its a lot less demanding.

3) Familliar characters. Some amount of using recycled villains is a good thing (within good taste. We're talking about the good, compelling type of sequel. Not the over-used, ill-conceived and boring melo-drama flashed on screen to bring in more cash.) I won't say too much, I don't want to give anything away, but wouldn't you rather fight against, say the legendary Darth Vader rather than a foe none of us know, say, a mysterious figure shrouded in enigmatic folds, the faceless, yet lethal Nom Anor? I'd vote Vader out of sheer coolness, but... I hope you get my point.

What's going on?
I'm shifting the RPG a number of years backwards, to before the Vong Crisis. The Database will not be cleared, but the Administration would like to request any characters excluded from this RP be listed and sent to an Admin, and we'll remove them regretfully. There is another method requires more effort on your part, and less on ours, that I'm considering. We whipe the database, and ask you to send in a form for all those chars you'd like to keep, but I frown upon this, but if you think it'd be easier for you guys, I'll do it. We're trying to open doors to plot ideas, not close them. Any character already registered will remain registered unless they die in this time period.

Why the change? Because Nix has a good idea. And they don't come often, but if he does his homework and development right, he thinks you'll enjoy it a great deal. And also, because the current state has seemed stagnant, and has stifled more ideas than inspired them.

As always. If you have questions or concerns, you know how to reach me.
