Magus Pros.
Magic is more understood and less feared.
Magic has more of a plethora of options then the brute force methods psionic can do.
Everything a Psionic can do, a magus could theoretically do with proper study and spells.
Anyone can be a Magus with study.
Magus Cons.
Magical learning is heavily regulated.
Magic requires years to be dangerously proficient on a level psionic can achieve decades early.
Magic requires a physical focus to conduct spells. Without it, a magus is crippled.
Magic requires a Patron, each with a code of conduct.
Psionic Pros.
A psionic with mastery of his or her gifts can be very dangerous.
A psionic can achieve effects that magic might require components that psionics don't need.
Psionics don't need a patron.
Every psionic has at least one gift.
Psionic Cons.
A psionic without control of his or her powers is a danger to everyone around it.
Psionics are less understood and more feared.
Psionic children are rounded up for study at the age of ten for treatment and when they return, more often than not are impassive and "slow" for those who knew them best.
Even the most powerful psionic can be out-maneuvered by a magus of sufficient skill.
Psionic Gifts
Apportation - Materialization, disappearance or teleportation of an object.
Aura reading - Perception of energy fields surrounding people, places and things
Astral projection or mental projection - An out-of-body experience in which an "astral body" becomes separate from the physical body.
Energy medicine - Healing by channeling energy.
Scrying - Use of an item to view events at a distance and/or in the future.
Telepathy - Transfer of thoughts or emotions in either direction
Telekinesis - The ability to manipulate matter by the power of thought
Retrocognition - Perception of past events.
Cryokinesis - The ability to create and control Ice(Calculating, Impassive, Logical)
Aerokinesis- The ability to create and control Wind( Creative, Happy, Flighty)
Geokinesis- The ability to create and control Earth (Stubborn, Loyal, Suspicious)
Umbrakinesis- The ability to create and control Shadows (Shy, Frightened, Sadistic)
Electrokinesis -The ability to create and control Lightning (Insane, Devious, Empowered)
Hydrokinesis -The ability to create and control Water (Mellow, Adaptive, Withdrawn)
Pyrokinesis - The ability to create and control Fire (Couragous, Tempermental, Outgoing)
Null- The ability to negate the Psionic gifts of others by proximity.
