The Hidden Community in North Korea is mostly sidelined. Those that don't conform to North Korean standards are killed, sent to work camps, or keep their powers hidden.
The history of the Hidden Community in North Korea dates back to the Korean War, when several Korean wizards from Mahoutokoro School of Magic wished to start their own magical school, independent of Japanese influence.
When kim Il-Sung invaded South Korea, he was supported by a group of those Stick Wizards. They provided magical support for the military, and when the Korean armistice was written up, the People's Ministry for Magical Affairs was formed in North Korea by those wizards.
Those who fought for the South or were against Kim Il-Sung's regime were hunted down by the Aurors. On the DMZ, a group called the Panmunjom Magical Guard erect defensive wards. Finally, a department called the Assistants supplements North Korean technology with magic.
Currently, the magical community is overseen by the People's Ministry for Magical Affairs. All wizards are required to register, and will be sent to the North Korean magical school. Those of other magical traditions are traditionally sent to Work Camps.
The Kim family runs most of the magic directly through the People's Ministrt of Magical Affairs. It is rumored that Kim Jong-Nam, the brother of Kim Jong-Un, was killed by a rogue auror.
