Terror Attack on United Nations Investigatory Committee!
International and Thai authorities are investigating what exactly happened at the United Nations Second Bangkok Conference. Initial reports state that armed gunmen entered the building and held several key representatives at the summit hostage. At time of press, the United Nations has not released any specific details on the attack, nor motivations for the terrorists.
United Nations Spokeswoman, Sakineh Zakaria, spoke about the matter to gathered press while at the airport in Phomh Penh, Cambodia this afternoon. "What occurred was a tragedy. The United Nations is working to prevent disasters such as this and the Kinshasa attack. Clearly, there were several lapses in security. These will be examined and we will fix them in order to prevent future incidents." Zakaria has also declared how the United Nations intends to move forward.
"I would like to inform all those who stand against us that the United Nations and the nations of the world will not give into threats. " Zakaria added, "The United Nations will work on fighting terrorism around the world."
UN Resolution #3482, set to go to a vote in the Security Council this week, will institute a United Nations-run organization for international Counterterrorism operations.
