KageCM 8:22pm, July 10, 2008 [Edit] [Delete] | 1. This is MY room. You are here because I want you here and you know how to act. You will treat me with respect and if you have a problem with my decisions, discuss them maturely, do not complain, do not ask an admin to reverse my desicion, they will ban you for 24 hours.
2. Admins have the same power as I do when I am not in the room or do not wish to deal with the problem directly. They are people I trust with that power. Do not ask me about their decisions, I will make sure they made the proper decision, we are all human. Disrespect of the admins or myself earns an escalating "time out" beginning with 30 minutes muted, and going from there.
3. KEEP OOC TO A MINIMUM. This is not negotiable. greetings and goodbyes are alright, but if you're going to have a conversation, please, take it to pm, the ooc room or some outside source. Warnings will be few.
4. Keep the drama out. Do not cause drama, simple as that. Whatever negative feelings you have about another person, leave them at the door. You don't have to be nice, but then, you do need to keep your mouth shut. And if you cannot solve your problems with another player, we will step in, and it will not be enjoyable.
4a. Do not intentionally try to mess things up. I've been in too many places where one or two people ruined the fun for everyone. This is my ship and I will not let it sink. I will boot your ass before you can cause the drama.
5. Called shots are not allowed. However, this does not mean you allow your character to get in a situation where they do not have the ability to dodge and then call a called shot. That's your own stupidity, and we will modify the post to make the shot hit you worse. If you perform a called shot, not only will it miss, your character will end up in an undodgable attack by the other person, non lethal attacks only.
5a. Think when you're responding to a battle post. Every action causes a reaction from your body, and reckless attacks will leave you open and less able to block. If you rush, and they dodge to the side, you probably will not dodge the sword slice to your back, because 1. your momentum is still going forward, and 2. your eyes are still pointing forward, and you cannot see, unless its a natural act for your character, you have a low chance of dodging. Also, strategic strikes. They are effective, and they can disable you. If someone hits their sword against your gauntlet or leg guard with a lot of force, it will vibrate your arm or leg, which hurts, a lot, and causes you to partially lose control of that hand or leg for a time, its numb and hurting. If someone cuts a muscle, that muscle is dead, whatever its connected to, is crippled. If you get cut in the back of your leg, you're hopping. Simple enough.
6. Ask before your character jumps into a scene or does something to affect another character over time besides a few things. People sometimes have things planned out before they start a scene. If your character jumps in, even if it is appropriate to their connection, then you will be in trouble. As well, sometimes people do not want their character to have something happen to them. That is understandable, and within reason, the people playing with them will abide by that. However, if caught in a situation, a character cannot avoid things like wounding, nightmare induction, recurring illusions, or rape if they would happen. If your character avoids all afflictions because you so choose, and not because they can resist, then one will be forced upon you, and you will have to play like they happen, even if you don't explicitly play what happens with the affliction.
7. Keep sex to a minimum if you can. While the room is NC-17, not everyone wants to see a graphic sex scene. If you really want to play it out, go to messenger.
8. Powers. Powers maybe gained or improved upon through game play. It will be encouraged. The scouts will not simply be handed their next wands, they will have to want the power, be in a situation where they need the power, or train towards unlocking it. That goes for everyone else as well. If the scouts train and beryl sits back doing nothing, they will get stronger than her.
9. ALL HANDLES MUST HAVE AN APPLICATION APPROVED. This includes admin handles and all admin's characters. NO EXCEPTIONS. If I find a handle that was not properly registered, it will be deleted and you will have to send an app. No questions, no warnings.
10. Dying. It can happen. The only safe people are the scouts, in a way. Guardians and scouts automatically pass their powers on to a new person to replace them, which is an automatically approved, within reason, app. Everyone else, you're sol if you die. You can submit a new char, but it has to get checked and approved again. The three post kill rule is in effect. Death can happen anytime, anywhere. If your character is stupid enough to run their mouth against beryl or a Guardian, or anyone with a temper, chances are, they'll get into a fight, and they may die. All non sparring battles are automatically approved to allow deaths.
11. Grammar/spelling nazis and people who can't spell. I don't like people telling me every spelling mistake I make. I'm human and I make errors. I'm sure everyone else feels the same. Please, if you see someone's spelling mistakes, unless they ask for correction, do not correct them in the chat. That does not excuse sloppy playing and misspellings in every sentence or not using proper grammer or punctuation. We would like to be able to read what you're writing, please. Everyone here knows how to spell, and I would appreciate everyone using that ability.
12. One word postings. No one can respond if your post is only one or two words. Please give a full thought that contains at least one full sentence.
