The recruitment ad, playing on several diffrent channels of course, starts with the ending of ANH on Yavin IV, luke han and chewie walking down the rows of people as the music plays. as they walk the camera first Zooms in on luke and a voice is heard. "Luke Skywalker, Farmer from tatooine." Then it focuses on Han "Han Solo, smuggler from Corellia"
It fades out as they reach the steps that princess lay is standing on to show a picture of Wedge Antillies climbing into a starfighter. "The New Republic, like the Alliance before it, relys on everyone, from the farmers to the rich industrialists, without you the New Republic cannot function." Zooms to a mon cal cruiser escorting a star destroyer. "we need crewmembers, gunners, comm officers, captains, fighter pilots, ground soldiers, even somthing simple like computer progrramers so we can work to provide a future for our children, one free from the opression of an empire."
Fade back to yavin four scene as they turn to face the crowd. "Join the New Republic Armed forces, who knows you might even win a princess." Zoom to Leia and then the picture goes black as Chewbacca roars.
If anyones interested in playing some roles in the new republic let me know, somthing like the Republic, should not be ran by one person alone, if you would like to be part of hte republic without actually having to play a new char you could always play a senator, my idea for senators woudl be they dont do any real role playing they just pop in vote on some new republic measure and then you go on your merry way. so anyone interested, suggestions, comments? |

[Delete] | That and the holochannels said recruitment ad came from Coruscant based channels, its sorta like if your tv picked up spanish channels and they had a recruitment ad for the Mexican army, or Spanish army, depending on which counrys channels your getting and what not. Its new republic airwaves, they put it on, your watching it on your own so pbbbbb.. at this time there are no new republic intrests on any part of tatooine, maybe a person somewhere but they wouldnt be acting on any offical nr business. |

[Delete] | Another topic I should point out, the senator thing isnt really being a char unless you wanted to play a senator character anyways, the idea was I would allow other peopel to vote on New republic issues, hoping of course they woudl set up a frame of mind for being a senator from a scertain planet, and not just want to ruin all the NRs fun by voting everything down or somthing. anyways, Kat and htem coudl probly become some sort of ambassidor should the nr go for that but senators have to be elected and such, and I dont think they have any political backgorunds eh? hehe anyawys well talk Katherine and work somthing out. |

I've got an idea... And it doesn't involving imagining this intire thread in spanish. Though that came first. Maybe I shouldn't do it.
Anyways, As a continued Imperial outpost(thanks to the trag investments in imperial remnents) the New Republic actually would have a minor interest in keeping an eye on the Tatooine system. Much like they'd strive to keep an eye on other Imperial remnent territory for the potential of a moff or Imperial warlord to rise up much like Grand Adrmial Thrawn did.
While the New Republic is spread quite thin, the fact that Tatooine is close to the hyperspace nexus and the Tragolite Federation is now pouncing on any ships that peak their curiosity(Bloody Pirates!) could be another point of Interes since one of the things the New Republic Fleet would watch for is attacks on the Space Lanes.
But that's just my opinion, something that doesn't really seem to be paid attention to unless someone else points out those facts....
