FALCON X-0N 12:35am, October 12, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Okie Dokles, kiddos, it looks like we got 22 votes pro restart.
So, while the voting isn't closed, lets start talking about what kind of Tatooine we'll have.
One thing is for certain, it'll be more Star Warsy. More technology one would hope. This means, politically, Tatooine is a Spacer planet. A trading outpost. Casablanca- -a place for refugees from the rest of the galaxy, the scum of the earth, deposed royalty, whatever you'd like, we got it.
But what about YOUR *points at the monitor* Factions, eh?
Well, that's what this thread is for. Two fold purpose- -one, to focus on where your factions are, on the planet, and galaxy wise...and two, to discuss basic stuff like archetechture and the like of the planet.
So, I think it's safe to say there'll be no super mega-cities on Tatooine. And as much as I'd hate to say it, the colonies are gone.
SHould we have any space stations?
As for my own factions, I really only intend to keep the Federation, and Wolfram and Hart. Wolfram and Hart, well, they're always around, but I"d like when we start up, that they're already established. Remember, they're enablers--they don't try to take over the city, they just help evil people, well, be evil. I'd like to keep them in the shadows, because one- -the mystical component of the chat should be taking a back seat, and two- -I wont be around as much. Speaking of which...can we tone down the apocalypses, please? "COMPLETE ENSLAVEMENT OF THE CITY" is just as dire and it pisses less people off...
And for my federation, well, they're gonna have expanded post Dominion war, and I'm still unsure if the wormhole is gonna be in Tatooine or not. I'll let that up to you guys? I'm still of two minds0- -I'd like them to have a presence in the SW galaxy...but that may be too much for me to work with.
...annnnd you thoughts? |

Pog 12:39am, October 12, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | I'm up for whatever architecture we can agree on.
Officially, Tatooine is a nexus of hyperspace routes, which would have some form of orbital policing force required, quite possibly space stations. As for the police, they'd be a paramilitary force, either New Republic, Hutt Cartel or whatever we can come up with. |

Tym 12:52am, October 12, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | I don't plan on starting with an factions... Obviously, I'm going to want the Talon Empire, but at the point of restart, I plan to have Chron still training on Korriban under the dark spirits that reside there, not actually showing up rp or storyline for months, maybe longer.
Other than that, none of my plans really have any effect on the political structure of... well, anything, really.
As stated, my preference is for shortly after the battle of endor as far as timeline, when the empire still exists, but is crumbling fast as the Rebellion gains official political status. |
| Another thought or two... |
FALCON X-0N 3:08am, October 12, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | As for archetexture, maybe we should impliment a kind of sandy-rocky-but-modern facet. Think firefly- -old fashion house with holographic windows.
ANd for the timeline, I think that post NJO would be the most accessable to everyone...and lets face it, there's always another imperial faction hidden away... |

Tym 3:16am, October 12, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | *shrug* whatever works... that means I'm gonna have to throw a lot of Ashtyra's and Kildas' backstories out the window... or just make them really, really old, but if that's what works best for everyone else, I'll work around it. |
| Argh! like the pirates do... |
Scott 11:05pm, October 12, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Let's do a half ass approach. Shity Desert world that barely supports life to those unprepared, like Tatooine is. Yet sectionds that have evolved differently due to those factions(and people) who would of ended up there anyways. Like, for example, (No offense ment.) A Varient on the Midgar giant pizza plate city for starwars ish manor. Or, Underground establishments for the tragolite Norad II. (I'm not sure how to incorperate Seths' 600,000 Marines because that's like a couple cities LIVING IN ONE!) But that's just me trying to compromise. uh..I'll shut up now.
((Don't forget, how the world ends up can also be directly tied to how we get there. Say, we just go out with a bang and destroy everything *glares at cru.* Than chances are nothing would survive. (or..) Say we make um so bullshit temporal paradox that invelops everything, characters could survive to an extent.)) |

Seth 8:25pm, October 14, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | I could drop my marines down to like 10,000 and focus on elite training instead of mass numbers. I'd volunteer them for the police force or whatnot.
For the land, we could have a modern inner city and a shitty kind of suburban area. |
| With the magic... |
Pog Because I'm Lazy 11:47pm, October 14, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | How's this going to be played on in the city? Is it going to be negatively magical, making it nigh impossible for supernatural forces to take seed, plain old city with minor mystic occurances, a dragon nest/nexus/loci where all kinds of mystic forces pool up or another hell mouth? |
| Magic wise... |
FALCON X-0N 1:51am, October 15, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Hellmouth is the most ideal thought, I think. It's just a mystical convergence- -meaning the fact that every important event, magical or otherwise, that seems to for some reason be drawn into Tatooine...well, that's 'cause of the hellmouth.
Just a thought, though. I doubt magic will be as predomenant, so...perhaps we can do without it. |
| NORAD |
Ace Kezie 2:57am, October 15, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | How do you plan to incorporate NORAD ? Email me details at jonathan_bergan@yahoo.com (Thats right my email's my name!! BWAHA!))

AceOOC 8:25pm, October 16, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | My idea for the Conglomerate is to take them back to just after they became the Conglomerate, ie. The Deception is still their flagship, and the Egg Wars are still a long ways off. |
| Weather |
Seth 12:10am, October 17, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | I mean yeah, I know its like 120 degrees all the time, but wouldn't it be nice for a change to have snow, or like some cold days, or alot of rain. I once remember back in the Beseen cantina, that somehow it was snowing, and it added a whole new twist to everything. Instead of using a normal scope you had to use thermal. It was hard to run in the snow...oh well just a thought... |

Oh Fuck! Pogo! 4:35am, October 17, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Deserts get damned cold at night, which is the best time to move around. Why you ask? I'll tell you. No cloud cover. Nothing keeps the heat of the day in so it all escapes into space. |
| tragolite |
Ace Kezie 6:03am, October 17, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | I was actually thinking of bringing in the trags as a scouting party from their empire, small time stuff |

| Jeeze |
Seth 8:46pm, October 18, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Yes I understand about the whole desert climate, and yes I know deserts get cold at night...But I was simply stating an Idea I wanted to bring up, and lets face it, who would really mind having a change of weather once and awhile? |

Anton 3:10am, October 19, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | yes i remember that snow thing, you guys made fun of me for an entire year i think.. |

Anton 3:11am, October 19, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Thanks for bringing up that painful memory *cue sobbing*
|
| mmm...snow |
Buzz 4:22pm, October 19, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Yes, The snow was fun. Improbable, but fun. Allow me to continue laughing at you, Anton. *cue FUCK I DON"T FEEL LIKE FINISHING THIS SENTENCE! |
| Back on the topic! |
Scott 11:16pm, October 19, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Most of the weather situation's we've had with the exception of the bloody fucking sandstorms have been part of someone's invasion or character arival. Or plot.
Wasn't the whole point of it anyways to let people speak their minds and evolve their characters and groups into this the way they wanted to? Hell, Maybe we can have mutant snow men roaming the street eating your hats!
And heck, this isn't as debunked as I thought it was. So let's think up a plot before Oct.29th gets here.
First of all, We need a setting point you can all agree upon. Pick one. I think Zon suggested... the point of Having Tatooine following the more so starwars plot curve. Meaning it'd exist with as if following the plots from the stories and movies. Like were hadn't arived yet. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) Is there any problem with that?
Second, Groups(that I think) that could probably pull off existing on Tatooine without much compromise in existance(beyond some structural changes in their existance and implacements. That'd probably include Shin-ra, Tragolites, and Kit's group(which I can't remember the name of...sorry.)
Thirdly, I stoped carring at this point so why don't the lot of you actually think of a time to talk it out instead of yelling paranoid insults at each other when you believe somebody's not going to restart. It's your characters grow the fuck up and make up your minds.
My appoligizes for any insult and I do think those who take the time to read this should post hopefully in a none cussing manor and post something benifitial to the topic as aposed to yelling at each other.
... Goodday. :) |
| Hmmm... |
Red 1:30am, October 20, 2004 [Edit] [Delete] | Mad hat-eating mutant snowmen... interesting......
