We here at the FNS have just been informed that Starfleet Command intends to continue classify the so-called Arkanis Regency Worlds, including Arkanis itself, as a class one navigational hazard.
For those unaware, in the past few weeks the Arkanis sector has been thrown into war against an invasion force of mechwarriors known as the "Jade Falcons." We here at the Federation News Service can confirm that the leader of the Jade Falcons, Malvina Hazen, reportedly conducted a megastructure-impact strike--a form of mass-destruction warfare banned by the Khitomer Accords --on the Agricultural world of *Static!*
The leadership of the planet Arkanis, formerly a barony of the First Order, has been reportedly deposed and all other government forces have surrendered to the Jade Falcons.
Again, Starfleet Command warns travelers away from these systems, as the Jade Falcons are considered hostile and the contested systems an occupied warzone.
Starfleet Admiral Zon Huntreas has gone on-record as condemning the invasion, but has yet to respond to our request for a more detailed interview on Starfleet's stance on the Jade Falcon threat.
There are also ... unconfirmed reports of arachnid movements at the very Rim-ward stellar edge of the Arkanis sector. More news on that story as it develops.
