I really don't know what to say, I've lost many friends when this whole thing started - sims are supposed to be fun and give people something to do. Not start a bitchfest between friends and cause chaos that just might end the entire sim and then you'll still be mad at each other. More and more people each day talk to me privately about Det and myself making up, and then it turns into an all out bitchfest over and over. More and more people turn against me, and its getting out of hand. FFS, people, grow up. Sometimes people might not want to hear your critizing their sims, or themselves. For example, Det saying that my sim is annoying and stupid, and that no one likes it because it involves the city. Too fucking bad. Maybe thats a part of the sim alltogether, you don't HAVE to get involved, just ignore it and don't bitch about it. Continue your life and keep RPing. And what about my caring for only myself having fun in my own sim? Sure, I like having fun. But who doesn't? Its not only for me, all those who wish to take part in the sim can. But if you don't want to, don't bitch about it just because it might pose a threat to you. If you feel you must counter it, don't sit idly by and let it kill you, take part! If you don't want to, thats fine! I mean.. ba-guh?! Most people didn't even acknowledge the fact that Scott blew up the planet, and that their char probably died but continued to RP him. No one said anything about it, because they assumed they went into the space station when it happened. And you don't really like losing your char, eh? No one does. I aknowledged the fact that Jek gave everyone's char back in the end, which was really nice of him. --- "Because you know full well its not mindless ranting, you only wish to convice yourself that your rp isnt as bad as it is, you wont accept the truth because yoa are atoo stupid and ignorant to realize that you really reallly screwed things up. Scott 9:36pm, May 10, 2003 [Edit] [Delete] If your going to use an sim, why don't you use a sim where the peron who inacted one of these mass desasters was as equally assertive as you are over the characters controled by others and you in the sim. That's what I'd point out as a big difference between yours and Kiri's sim, the plot between characters as apose to Shaun's will upon what should happen... Like, when I blew up the planet for example, I told everyone I assumed mass ability to escape. You like, flee, make haste for some place that isn't so fucking dead. Which in lamemens terms should have told them, there's 11 minutes till the character is dead or alive, it's for them to choose what happens to them. NOT ME. But you drag it out...   Det 7:53am, May 11, 2003 [Edit] [Delete] Okies, I need to apolgize as well, first to those who had to put up with everything posted in the chat or those who read through the stuff on the board, though I have to point out, if your reading it on the board then your the one really at fault since its not a force read, anyways. I also want to apoglizise for alot of the personal jabs, though I think I kept them down, I know several things were directed at shaun himself more than his rp, and those are wrong, since im trying to deal with his rp not him. However I do not apolgiize for anything I said about the rp itself, I stand by everythign. It is uninventive, almost all stolen, though I did read through his story and it soudns like he put some work into creating some more seperation between his RP and LOTR. However it didnt fix my biggest problems which Scott and Mikey both pointed out, and much better tahn I. I tend to really streach things out and sometimes I dont get to the point and it gets kinda lost. HOwever the rp is basically shaund oes whatever he wants, whoevers involved actually has very little choice in actions, since after all if Shaun has his way the god guy wont die till shauns ready to have his heros blow up the rings or whatever they might have to do now. Kiri has good rps because while it might not seem so great going on an adventure to redeem a fallen jedi and does indeed sound like somthing thats been used before, she leaves plenty up to those who join in to do however they want, they dont have to go along with things there is more than just one path of following them around, they can do other things, they can find a new path to achieveing the goals. its freedom, its how RPS should be done and its how all of the good ones are done. Also as Mikey said, when you invovle the city it is not all that easy to just pretend nothing is happening, because then your character teends to look like someone who dosent care, when you involve the city or when you involve the tina, you draw in just about everyone, and when you draw in people and try to put them up against near invicible armies led by invicible godlike people, its just stupid. Anyways I just wanna go on ranting its to easy to fall too, but basically sorry for any personal jabs that might have gotten through and hurt, but I still stand by everything ive said about the rp itself, and will do so and if you dont like it too bad because as long as its threatening the city and its areas, its threating my character, making it a potneital person in having to get involved, and I will add my two cents. The real diffrence between a good GM and a bad GM, the ability to develop rps that work for those who are invovled. Also a bad rp can be ignored if its small. Kiri is a good example, if her rp was just as bad as yorus, a big rip off where she was leadin everyone aroudn by the nose and they were oging along just because they had nothing else to do, it would be ignored, because its not on the planet, its not nearby and noone has to get involved. If you make a large scale rp it has to be good, a small scale rp gets away with alot more, but of course theres always the limits.
