I know this is isn't an IC post, but I figure this will reach the most people. I'm considering buying a new laptop computer, and selling my old one. I'd appreciate it if you'd all give me an opinion as to how much you would pay for the one I'd be selling if you were in the market for one, don't have to be-just want an idea of what people think it's worth. Specs and Included software listed below....

-Manufacturer- HP
-Model-Pavilion N5270
-Screen Size/Type- XGA/TFT LCD Screen. Goes up to 1028x768 and 32bit color. 14 to 14.4 inch viewing area (not exactly sure on that one.
-Processer is a Pentium III Mobile, 600mhz.
-Touchpad with "tap clicking" as well as conventional buttons, keypad lock and scroll keys.
-8x DVDrom, no CD burning capabilites.
-Internal 56k modem with integrated 10/100 Ethernet (LAN card)
-Front DVD drive controll keys (and it can play audio CD's when turned off. Volume adjustment is also on the front, as well as having a Function key shortcut
-Microphone Input Jack..and I'm pretty sure there's a mic built into the computer itself.
-IRDA infared port
-1 Serial port
-1 LPT1 port (printer port)
-1 VGA port (Montor output)
-Composite TV-out jack (The yellow cable)
-2 USB 1.1 ports (on back)

-64mb of RAM (Supports up to 512, I believe. If I do sell, I'll upgrade to at least 128)
-4mb Savage3 Video card.
-10gb Hard Drive
-Mouse/keyboard ps2 port.
-Docking Bay expansion slot (no Docking bay, though)
-Included Battery.
-The case and lid locks are in great condition, maybe some very minor cosmetic defects, scratching, ect.

Included Software
-OS is Windows XP Professional
-Will include driver packs for Win98se, and Win2k Pro.
-Will include the system restore disks (windows ME...blech!)
-Adobe Photoshop6
-Unreal Tornument (the old one)
-Microsoft Office XP Professional
-Norton Systemworks 2002
-Retail Version of Counterstrike (latest update)
-Powerlink DVD playback software

I can also provide any other windows and some Linux OS's that you'd want. The powercord, and a DC powerconvertor (usefull for plugging in TV's, computers, and other such things-in your car. Watch for blown fuses, though). The manufactureres warranty is long gone, sorry.

Note-I am not selling through this board, if I do sell, it will be on E-bay, but I'll try and give any interested parties here preference, if given enough notice. I'm really just looking for an idea of what you'd be willing to pay for it.

It Runs CS, UT, JK, and MOTS just fine. Direct3d works fine with it, Don't know about openGL, and I can pull 60frames a second on UT using the s3MetaL drivers. I'm just assuming that it's a Savage vid card, as that is what HP was putting in laptops at the time. This isn't a gaming machine, though-the card in it works just fine for everything I've done with it (though I wouldn't buy another computer with one in it-given the choice of an ATI of Nividia card)

Savage and Diamonds tend to freeze misc programs that shouldn't even stress them. Such as Dreamweaver and some camera programs. Not trying to rain on your parade Buzz, just bitching out my Stealth S540. And if you want to pimp and sell stuff here, go ahead, just don't rip anyone off.

Like I said before, this is just so I can get an idea of what people might be willing to pay for it if they were looking. Granted-I've never had any problems with the card, but thats not to say that somebody else won't. I really wouldn't reccomend the laptop for anything else other than say, the internet, watching movies, doing office applacation work, and casual gaming. In no way is it a desktop replacement. I have a savage card in my old desktop and it gave me all sorts of problems, this one hasn't *shrugs*

Sorry, didn't mean to imply you'd rip anyone off. *L* Just saying if you want to sell something here only, go right ahead.
