Private RPs that can only be entered by retreiving the sacred amulet of Zincor from the dungeon of Ma'Lelha on the fifth planet of the heavily patrolled, Borg-controlled system... and carrying it to the Fiery Cracks of Mount Doom in Mordor, etc. You get my point. We close ourselves out from contact with anything but NPCs and friends we know will not kill our chars. And for the precious few who don't, well, you're shit outta luck, cause everyone else has. Have fun wandering the city alone, buying groceries, sipping ale, all the things the people without 'parties' do. Of course, anyone not in the cantina, or off on some secret mission in the middle of nowhere, is fair game. Which is why nobody's 'About Town' nowadays. They materialize two steps outside of the tina door, and can phase-shift to out of town. Not that you can bame em. Cause the million merc chars are just itching to show how tough they are to anyone who happens to be caught outside protection. You may not come back from that milk run alive... Of course I'm not blaming anyone for any of this. This is how the tina has evolved in response to all the types of chars that have passed through it. We all hurt and helped at varying levels. I'd like to think I helped new people out,showed em the ropes a bit. I also know I'm probably the reason for a few of the rules at least. No bullshitting around, just brainstorming. Submitted ideas: Rping inside the IC cantina. Sense of community. Overall interaction rather than spliting into (RP) groups and ignoring everyone else. Light-hearted conversation. Lots of joking, etc. Not the serious, angry arguements and bitchouts. More IC period. Go IC when bored, BS around and encourage others to do likewise. First ofall, if there's anything that hasn't been mentioned, only touched on, is that we need to be more spontanious. A LOT MORE. One of the biggest 'problems' we got is that someone will come in OOC, and be bored. So someone else will come in and be bored. Now, we've all been in the "My chars dead, happily paused, or the ones I have just don't fit, I need a new char, blah blah" funk. Thats not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about when it just ends up all of us having the IC bug, but no one doing anything. Nay. I say, ICdom just needs to be more encouraged. You're bored, get IC and encourage others to do likewise. Doing what? Whatever. Make up some crazy plotline and go with it. You don't have to have a perfect plot. Lots of the time, great plots will end up out of sims meant to fill an afternoon. Secondly...this does not mean in any way that plot sims should be avoided. In fact, if there's a sim out there with the plotline up the wazoo- -Treat it as if its Cocaine-based sugar cookies dipped in gold and surrounded by beautiful women. GO FOR IT! I mean hell, we got the Thanatos thing on the table right now, we should be on that like stank on a monkey. In fact, I do believe I'm gonna stir up some IC buzz for the danger sometime later. Same with general sim- -make stuff up. I got some killer plans that popped into my head five minutes ago when I was reading the logs. That kind of stuff. Unfortunatly, I'm coming off hypocritical as I wont be in the cantina until friday, but still... We need to be voracious, and gobble up sims when they come. And just make them.
