The rules for Tides of Adventure are expected to be followed should you wish to remain within this room. A warning will always be granted first when breaking any such rule, unless the rule states a zero tolerance. Further pushing of such rules will result in a ban of one day. The next occurrence will result in a one week ban. If such happens once again, the banning will transpire for one month. Any such instance there after will result in a permanent ban from the room as a consistency of breaking the rules will not be tolerated.

  • Chat Master will make all final calls and such will be abided by lest a punishment up to and including banning will incur.

  • Any questions or concerns, whether about drama, issues, questions about your character application, or what have you, should be emailed to: ToA_Staff@hotmail.com and a staff member will reply as soon as possible. As of October 2018, we no longer utilize the email system. If there are concerns, reach out via a DM in the chat. Other forms of contact, such as instant messenger or Skype, are meant only for fun and social purposes.
-The exception to this is if a mod or admin has banned someone and you deem it unfair. In this case, feel free to contact the Chat Master so that this can be rectified ASAP. Any other such debates and drama can wait and should be directed at the email.

  • This room is rated as NC-17. If you are not comfortable with limits being pushed in terms of gore, sexual content, and violence...This is not the room for you. However, there is to be no full on cybering within this room. That is what other messengers are for and not everyone wishes to read over the lustful ongoings of others. If you do not like the content of a certain RP, ignore it and come back later. No longer will the comments of “Gross”, “Ewww”, or anything of that manner be allowed. No warning shall be granted and will go straight to a ban.

  • Be kind to one another. This is for fun. Do not take everything personally or seriously. Do not harass other players about how they choose to play their characters or for any other reason. Do not act rudely towards one another. From here on out, if you have been deemed rude or disruptive, you will receive a ban without warning. You all know how to act like adults.

  • Keep the OOC drama out of the chat. If you have drama, take it to messengers or elsewhere. Drama and arguments will not be tolerated in the chat.

  • Please try to keep OOC down when others are RPing, out of respect for those playing, of course.

  • There is a difference between what a character does OOC opposed to IC. Do not take OOC comments to be IC comments. The way a person speaks with their character OOC does not necessarily reflect what they think or would do ICly. You all should know the distinction between the two.

  • This is not a rule but, a friendly reminder. Feel free to ask for RP. That being said, try not to ignore your fellow players when they ask. If you must decline, then do so as it sits better with others than being outright ignored and left hanging.

  • Chat Warring is a zero tolerance offence and you will be banned for committing such.

  • There is a zero tolerance for people who come in with the explicit purpose of stirring up trouble and causing problems.

  • Stepping around an ident ban will get you an IP ban for a long while up to the discretion of the Chat Master. Stepping around an IP ban will cause your handles, all of them, to be deleted.

    Rules concerning Play
  • Handles must be registered and with a profile up before said handle may be permitted to enter IC.

  • Godmodding will not be tolerated. Called shots, power gaming, and the like will also not be tolerated. Breaking this rule will lead to first a warning. Further breaking this rule will lead up to and including banning.

  • Your character can die. It does not happen often but, it is still a possibility through RP. So, do not get all bent out of shape when such does occur. Furthermore, there is at least three posts minimum to allow for the other character to defend themselves. Anything is possible. No one post kills!

  • When attacking another player or another player's territory, permission must be granted first by the player. This is forfeit if the player has not been around in several months. Then, permission needs to be obtained by the CM to go forward with any battle action.

    Character Registration
  • Registering an OOC handle first is suggested for new members. However, you only have one month after registering an OOC handle to register a character handle, or your OOC handle will be deleted.
-Those who are returning after deleting their own handles or have had their handles deleted by the Chat Master, have only two weeks for this.

  • Canons are allowed. However, there is a limit of two per person and a chat limit of twenty. There will also be a banned canon list, so please check that over. We also reserve the right to deny any other canons not on the list. As of October 2018, we no longer are accepting canon character applications.

  • The Chat Master has the right to deny applications for any reason. No longer will feedback be sent back to players. Chances are that something was missed or there was not enough information granted. Try again. If your application has been denied three times, it may be best to move on from that character.

    Handle Deletion and Re-registration
  • If a handle has not been used in six months (OOC comments made with a character do not spare the lack of use. It will count from when it was last RPed), it will be deleted. This is to encourage you to actually play with those you have. Cleaning will be done periodically.

  • When reregistering a character after deletion (regardless of whether you deleted it yourself or it was deleted due to going unused), the character will have to be registered as a new character. This means it will be subject to the rules concerning new characters (such as level caps on skills, abilities, and magic) and any special items that were gained through RP will be lost.

  • A character may only be reregistered once. This means the second deletion is final and the character is written off as dead for good.

  • Characters that have been deleted cannot be reregistered by anyone but the original player. This goes for both OCs and canons.
