History

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Kephael was born the eldest son of a simple family in the rain-plagued city of Seattle. From an early age Keph displayed a stubborn and tempermental demeanor, keeping his better traits concealed behind a fairly sarcastic and cynical exterior. This attitude sparked him to going as far as picking fights when provoked in the school setting as well as at home. Regardless, Keph held a normal childhood. But upon reaching puberty, began exhibiting perculiar behavior that brought upon his father's curiousity. Kephael had manifested his genetic mutation.

Despite the shock and no longer holding the ability to comfort his son, Neville Sloan - a mutant sympathizer - knew that his son would no longer be safe in the ever-developing world, one that shunned and discriminated against mutants. Neville sent Kephael to Westchester County in New York, to the Xavier's Institute For Gifted Youngsters. To the rest of his family, he was merely being sent off to a boarding school for higher learning and a better education. Keph grew up amongst a welcoming atmosphere which offered him endless possibilities.

Though even at his young age, he admired those older than him, those fended off anti-mutant groups and defended the mansion using their gifts; the X-men. Requesting aid from Professor Charles Xavier to aid him saddle control of his powers and eventually shed the yellow rubber gloves he donned since arrival so that he would be able to no longer harm people through touch. Permitting use of the Danger Room to Keph, Scott Summers set up simple excerise programs for him to engage in. From which he upped his stamina and agility but also allowed him the freedom to use his electrical manipulation to experiment and develop. But also through small sessions with Professor Xavier, his understanding of his abilities grew and the push towards truly controlling the electrical surge within him progressed.

His training eventually came through when Keph was able to aid students and team members defend the Mansion from a AMTF assault on the Mansion grounds, even when a power-blocking device was used, he still managed to combat the troops accordingly through the combat skills and techniques he had learned through countless hours in the Danger-Room.

Once Keph had been designated to have met the requirements, Cyclops sent him out on a mission to obtain details on and even recover a missing student/resident known as Renafel Walker who been reportedly spotted lurking around New York City. Locating her, his initial encounter proved to be doomed from the start as his aggressiveness in handling it ended him being defeated in combat but also led to the discovery of a detail he had overlooked, that she had a symbiote.

Despite his attempts to convince Rena to return Xavier's mansion, she remained stubborn and unresponsive with him. However, he soon found her at Xavier's upon his return, whether it was because of his urgings or not is unclear. He did recover her from getting her drunk with Demyan.

Maintaining an eye on the returned student, Keph soon received a telephone call from his mother who informed the tragic news of his father, Neville, who had been killed in a car accident with a drunk driver. For the most part, Keph contained and bottled up his grief, but he eventually expressed it to the ear of Renafel who surprisingly listened to him. This was one of the last few times he saw her around the house, only seeing her conversing with one, Sean Steele. It was not until she disappeared all together.

Finding himself actually concerned over the whereabouts of Rena, evidence and rumors hinted at kidnapping by Doctor Doom. Regardless, he searched Manhattan again but this indeed proved to futile. Unable to think of any other method, he journeyed to 177a Bleecker Street in New York's Greenwich Village where he requested the aid of Doctor Stephen Strange. It was not until Strange detected Rena had escaped Doomstadt that he was able to teleport her from Latveria due to magical wards, placed protecting the capital city.

However, it was at this point Strange decided to solve something that he had sensed about Keph. Summoning the infamous Norse God, Loki to the Sanctum Sanctorum, Strange demanded answers on why he could sense some similarities between him and Keph, to which Loki revealed that he was infact Keph's real father. Rather shaken by this, Rena and Keph returned to Xavier's.

Loki began making more frequent appearances after that, devulging information that he had hundreds of children on Earth (or Midgard as he calls it) and that Keph had a special purpose, to battle his father's arch-nemesis and step-brother, Thor. As such, Loki bestowed runes to his son, Renafel, and Chris Hudson to summon him as the latter two were forcifully enlisted as guardians for his son. A role for a considerable duration of the time he enforced.

Unbeknownst to Loki's mischief and torment, Keph soon ascended to a team member role of the X-Treme Silver team. Continuing to work hard to keep his place on the team, training frequently and engaging in jogs around the mansion grounds, Keph still found some time to hang out with Renafel.
