Background: Shinji belongs to a clan of Kitsune, legendary fox demons of Japanese mythology. This race has kept mostly in seclusion from society, keeping the form of typical humans in order to blend in. Though Shinji would keep her true self hidden, she went against her clan's usual wishes of seclusion and entered into society, attending a private school in Japan. There were difficulties on this issue with her parents, but her two brothers and two sisters would continue to provide support for her path in life.
She had a fairly impressive intelligence at an early age, skipping several grades altogether, even through high school. Her constant study habits as a child pushed her beyond standard human intelligence. Entering college at the age of 12, she abandoned her own family, changed her name, began work on a new project, and, within a year, submitted to the scientific community her own theory of nanotechnology. Though the design was used before in other fields, Shinji would be the first to apply it toward more human problems. The nanomachines would act as a universal cure, adapting to the body's chemical composition and eradicating any virii, cancer, or harmful bacteria found anywhere in the body. Her work on this jettisoned her into an early celebrity status, though the work would be taken from her own posession and applied in secret.
Exiting college with both a degree in mutant genetics and physiology at the age of 20, she moved to NYC to start a new life, still riding on her own popularity in the science industry. Though she still keeps in regular contact with her siblings, she has little concern toward her own parents, having been estranged on the grounds of personal beliefs and tradition, which Shinji had all but completely abandoned.
Abilities: Being a kitsune, she's awarded with the ability to shapeshift into any other humanoid form that she desires. Alongside this, she can also shift to her fox demon form, about the size of a small elephant, though there are very few advantages to this form aside from intimidation and, in her own words, "running really, really fast." Being an untrained ability, she mostly sticks to her human form, utilizing her intelligence to get ahead in the world.
