Power(s): Chlorokinesis, Botanopathy. Ability to communicate with, control, manipulate, mutate, and merge with plant life to extreme amounts. She can merge with natural plants or mutated ones with similar difficulty. Communication with plants is on a mental level; the plants do not "talk" back, but she senses the responses to her stimuli. Because of this, she can effectively use plants to eavesdrop, but with a much smaller radius than the extent of her manipulation power can encompass.

Brief History: Mel was barely a teenager when the mutant riots broke-out, and the nukes fell. She survived, for she was Famine, one of the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse. After the war, however, there was no more need for Famine.

She was almost literally plugged into Utopia's growth, she became the driving force behind all the plants and natural foods grown within the city walls, The Minister of Equity. Sure there are other Chlorokinetics who can manipulate plants, even mutate them, but Melissa has proven to be the strongest and also one of the highest in control of her powers, even among other Alpha-level chlorokinetics. She wasn't forced into her service, but instead it's most like a very high-paying position, for a job that she basically never stops working at. There are others that help out with the crop growing and manipulation, but to keep the crops at such high outputs even under the controls available with such advanced technologies, she has to be kept alive and healthy. As such, she's kept under high security at all times; she can leave The Plantation occasionally, but not without an excessive security detail. Because if The Plantation or the growing force behind it's success were to be damaged or destroyed, all natural food/material production would be severely cut.

Although she hasn't been fatally targeted by resistance groups, because killing her would be shooting themselves in the foot, the threat of suicidal-type groups, and plain crazies, can not be unexpected.

Despite her loyalties (forced or not), she is also 'helping' random plants to grow out in the human slums. Those plants are normally too distant to be used for information gathering or tactical usage, but many of them do bear fruit. Perfectly normal fruits. She could be planning something for the very distant future, or just enjoying a tiny defiance.

She has been used for eavesdropping purposes in the past, but the need for her to be Equity is far greater now.
