To register, you MUST submit an application. This allows for me to look over the application or my admins, and talk to you if needed, about specific problems or issues. It also is a record seen only by admins and myself, of who is playing whom. With emails to contact you by. So I ask that you PLEASE include an email. We cannot assign a password. It will randomly be given. All information must be filled out, please! I need to know the race, class, and powers and abilities. Without them, you will get an email from me or an admin asking for them which will delay your registration process.
You are free to register an OOC handle, without an app, to get a feel for the place, of course.
If you ask an admin to be registered real quick without an application, and they do it, your handle will be deleted by me, and the admin will be reminded of the application rule. This deletion will be done without warning, and an email will not be sent. Please contact us in our Discord., if you have any questions.
Rule 1: OOC - All out of character posts must be made using parentheses (( )) and should be limited. Any form of OOC that may cause disruption in the chat should be taken into private chat or the OOC Chat. Do not use OOC to harass or insult other people. Also, let the admins handle problems. That's what we're here for and people jumping in will only cause problems. Thanks.
Rule 2: Deities and God Characters - All deities and god characters shall remain as NPCs (Non-Played Characters) or played by myself, or the admins on an as-needed basis. If your prior character is/was one, this may mean you need to tweak his/her history/bio. Sorry.
Rule 3: Weaponry must conform to the time period. This is 1517 on Spyridon. No Guns of ANY sort. So don't ask. ( However, there are rudimentary 'guns' in way of flintlocks, however, they are very rare, and hard to produce and only the richest have them. STILL IN NEGOTIATIONS. DO NOT BRING ANY IC)
Rule 4: Admins and moderators have the right to refuse a registration request, though the request will be sent directly to me, via email or PM, then I have final say. This is not to belittle the admins, but it is to know what is going on in case an argument breaks out. If I have final say, it's final.
Rule 5: Immortals - There are some people who think immortal means a person cannot die by any means. Immortal actually means a person cannot die from age. If your character is immortal that is fine. But they may die by the sword, by disease, etc. Any natural means (except age) may kill them (unless they are otherwise immune to disease etc.) ANY Char can die- yes, that means you and you and you! No char is above death and if you don't want your char to die then stay away from any and all conflicts. One thing though, please do tell upon entering a fight, if you don't want the character killed. If you don't, don't complain when they are killed.
Rule 6: Original Characters - ALL Characters must be original. Dragging a char out of a comic book with the same name, abilities and backstory while RPing the persona differently is wrong e.g. A char shows up looking like Sephiroth, is named Sephiroth, has all of Sephiroth's powers -and- has a backstory similar to Sephiroth's and he plays with bunnies and gets drunk all the time.... not happening. To go along with this, I'd also like to add that I would prefer no video game characters. I don't want to see Sephiroth, Cloud...and all that jazz, running around. RP is about creating, not stealing.
Rule 7: Obviously, no space travel. It wasn't around then.
Rule 9: OOC/IC Split - All conversations had OOC are to be kept separate from IC knowledge. While you may talk about what is going on IC, you cannot allow OOC information to be leaked to your character unless he/she has already been expressly informed. Ex: If someone says OOC that his character's sword can be destroyed by putting it in lava, then sticking it in water, then throwing it twenty feet into the air- then nobody who should fight this character can randomly do all those things just to melt the character's sword. OOC and IC are to be kept SEPARATE at all times.
Rule 10: Class Limits: Currently there are none that I can think of. This is NOT set in stone. Class limitations however, ghosts and spirits are anchored to one location and cannot affect the physical.
Rule 11: I'm adding race limits...no gods or goddesses. Obviously no DBZ or stuff like that. This is D&D based (Loosely). Demons that were not D&D do exist however. There are other race limits, but they are based on an as-turn-up basis.
Rule 12: IC life and RL. Keep these separate! I don't know how many times I've suggested this, not seen it followed, and it ended up bad. I talk to everyone on IM, and even one or two on the phone, but I keep everything separate from the chat itself. If RL gossip ends up in the chat, and I hear about it, I will ban the offender...and anyone participating...for 3 days. If during that time I find proof, the ban becomes permanent. No ifs, ands, or buts. I would prefer you not gossiping about other chat members, but I can't control it, outside the chat. You start bringing it into the chat and you're not only going to get yourself in trouble, but you may drag me, or others, down with you. This HAS HAPPENED. So I know what I'm saying.
Rule 13: If you have a campaign going, and are absent without warning for longer than a month, your campaign will be at the mercy of the rpers. Control of it will go over to the rpers, and out of your hands. You will no longer, from that time forward, be in control of it, or be able to seize it back. Starting a campaign/storyline that involves the entire chat in some way is a major responsibility...if you're not up to it, don't do it. If you don't plan on being in the chat, at minimum once per week, this is not something you should be doing. Give the idea to someone else who can run it.
Rule 14: Leave it at the front door! If you have a problem with one of the people in the chat, from another chat, leave it at the portal. Someone killed your character in another chat? THIS ISN'T THAT CHAT! Wipe the mud off. New beginning in this chat. If you have a problem with a person OOC, then, just try your best to have nothing to do with them. We're rping in a small village, but there's not just Taltoua. Check the map. I'd like to get other cities started as well. So try your best not to let outside problems influence you in this chat. And remember, things typed, can be taken many ways.
Rule 15: When applying, please do fill out as many abilities your character has. Do NOT add in abilities after the character has been approved. If you wish your character to learn a new power, pass it by the admins first for approval, especially if it is a powerful ability. And you must RP training said ability over the course of however long it takes to get decent rolls.
Rule 1: Called Hits - Called hits can be allowed, but usually need to be discussed first. If you prefer to use called hits, you can state OOC that you wish to go by called hits. NO CALLED HITS is the default.
Rule 2: Stating Rules - As with called hits, participants should agree on rules before starting a fight. It is not required but highly suggested. This will hopefully help lessen arguments about what happens in a fight. However, should someone make an attack without stating rules, then he or she automatically forfeits his or her rights in a battle.
Rule 3: Resurrection - Resurrections are highly unlikely. For that reason, if you strongly feel the need to resurrect a character, you will need to first discuss it with ME, then roll a d100 (type in /dice 1d100 and hit enter). If you get a 75+ then there's a chance your character will be resurrected. Otherwise, forget it. If you do get the 75+, then you will roll again (same thing) and that's the percentage of a chance that your character will be revived...anything over 50% (this could change) will be resurrected. ONLY ADMINS AND MODERATORS can perform a resurrection...and only after I've seen the dice rolls. The specific resurrection will be given a time period to take and will be dealt with when the time comes. Another thing, a resurrection can only be performed by a Cleric.
Rule 4: Challenges - Players of SRI have a right to choose if he or she wishes to be involved in a fight. If a player's character is attacked then he or she shouldn't choose to ignore the post but must state they wish not to fight. However, if the person being attacked is involved in an RP in which they would naturally be attacked then they must accept the challenge. This means that if someone attacks your char randomly w/o provocation, you may choose -not- to fight with them. If your char is involved with someone else who may attack/may be attacked/is involved in an RP where a combo of the two may occur, then your char is subject to any of the aforementioned events.
Rule 5: No Omni-Dodging. No char can dodge or parry every attack- some damage must be taken every couple attacks. RPers should know the limitations of their char and take damage accordingly.
Rule 6: Wounds - Relating to rule 5, chars should act differently in a battle after sustaining moderate to heavy wounds. If your character has just had a bone broken then it should affect his/her performance. If the char is bleeding profusely they may begin to get slightly light headed after a couple minutes. If it is stated that a character feels no pain and/or is unaffected by such things in their bio, then this rule can be disregarded...but really that shouldn't be stated unless it's been okayed.
