Full Name: Thomas Andrew Everett
Codename: Synch
Race: Mutant
Earth-616 Counterpart: Everett Thomas, Synch
Age: Mid-20's
Affiliation: Brotherhood
Base of Operations: Apartment in Neo-X
Power: Thomas possesses an aura which allows him to “synch” with nearby super-powered individuals, gaining their given power and the knowledge of how to use it to its full potential. Formerly, he was only able to hold onto a power for a limited period of time, but his mastery has developed to the point that he can “hold” a single power for an indefinite time span. In order to absorb and use a new power, he must “release” the old one. His aura is also useful in the tracking of other mutants, so long as he has came into contact with them previously.

Brief History: Thomas Everett was born to a pair of unremarkable mutant parents in the former southern United States. As is common for any “good” parent, they enrolled Thomas for the Imperial Institute shortly after his powers began to manifest when he was three years old. Despite his position on the list, he was admitted to the school as soon as he was of age, due to the unique nature of his abilities.
If his hometown was a single column magazine article on his potential, being in Neo-X was a three-pound novel: a feast for his mind as he fluctuated between telepathy, flight, and whatever other powers took his fancy. Needless to say, as his understanding of what he could do increased, so did the size of his ego. In his teens, he was inducted into one of the student teams at the Institute, but he proved unruly, diving headfirst into combat heedless of the consequences. Whatever future he would have had within the Empire was thus lost when his carelessness precipitated the loss of one of his teammates in an altercation with resistance forces.
Years later, he’s still a cocky bastard. Of an independent mind and unresponsive to “strong” leadership, he still harbors a rebellious streak a mile wide, and has been in more than his fair share of altercations with the authorities of Neo-X. His skillset means that he’s perfect for a wide variety of odd-jobs, and that suits him just fine, living life one day at a time. But, there’s no denying that there’s a yearning in him for something more. Something that resembles..freedom? An independent soul can only tolerate Big Brother for so long, after all, before he’s apt to want to break the camera and the man on the other side of it.
