Abilities

■ Portals - opens portals to other realms / planets / places. Useless in combat because of how long they take. The only thing they're good for is long distance traveling. They are either circular or ovular in shape and are white in color, illuminating the area nearby. Portals are not irritating to the eyes unless looked at directly for a period of time.

Cool down: Cannot use this again for 4.5 hours. An individual just simply CANNOT open another portal until this amount of time has passed (kind of like a male's refractory period).
Total time: Each one takes 10-20 minutes to open.
Side effects:
• Very taxing on energy. Like, she will want to sleep after opening it up. Sometimes she does.
• Dizziness/nausea/confusion upon going through and arriving if individual is not used to portal travel.
Notes:
• They can mess up and open up to somewhere the individual did not intend to travel, but the place has to have breathable oxygen.
• Can only open up to places the user has been, unless it messes up. Intentional opening of a portal to a place the user has never been takes months of research.
• Can only be opened as far as the user's arms can reach. Easier to do closer to the user.

■ Shapeshifting - shifts the user's shape into that of another creature.

Forms:
• Lesser lumivone; closest animal relative of her race (the chimpanzee of her kind, for a comparison). It's the size of a small household cat (around Singapura sized). It's a quick little critter that climbs, granted she's overweight in this form, too, so it's a bit slower than an average one of its kind.
• Human disguise
Cool down: 10 minutes.
Total time: Her small critter form takes 10 seconds to complete transformation. Human disguise takes about 3 seconds.
Side effects:
• Drains some energy
• Using more than 4 times in an hour can lead to heart problems such as a heart attack.
• Adrenaline rush. Bones break to take on this new form. Pain tolerance of the body becomes much higher during transformation.
Notes:
• Can have bad effects on fetus if used while pregnant (depending on the form -- forms that are closer to her race's anatomy, such as human, would have little to no effect)! Severe deformities, death. Can be safely used until 4 months of pregnancy.
• Cannot communicate beyond animal noises while in the form of an animal due to having different vocal cords.

• Most common eye color: blue
• Eyes can be most colors, just not neon or extremely vibrant colors (gradient and rainbow are not colors).
• Least common eye color: pink/red (albino), warm colors.
• Night vision.
• Tails are long, round, and fuzzy. (think of lemur tails.)
• Ears: long, can be a rectangular or ovular shape; ear opening can be straight, outward curved, or arch-like.
• Fur colors can be: light values of cream/creme, strawberry-ish color, grey, slate, blue, any greys/browns with a cool(blue/purple) tint to them. White, black.
• Quadrupeds
• Good hearing

• Body: stripes, swirl patters, bands, spots, or no patterns.
• Tail: colored tips, or can match body's pattern, or can have completely different pattern/ color than body, or no pattern.

• Covered in extremely short, transparent bodily hairs (humans have body hair, too, mkay?), gives their skin a soft feeling, like the surface of a peach.
• Skin colors have the same range as fur colors. Can also have patterns, though they are often times faint.
• Eyes can be most colors, just not neon or extremely vibrant colors (gradient and rainbow are not colors). Red/pink only show up on albinistic individuals.
• They have soft facial features.
• Their tails are strong enough to maybe slide small things onto them like keys or bracelets. They can’t alone hold stuff with the tails. C’mon, it’s a tail, not an arm growing out of their butt.
• Feet are between 7 – 12 (US shoe size) when full grown.
• Long toes.

• Still make their animalistic noises occasionally.
• Paw pads on feet and hands.

Health Issues: Cannot get human STDs or cancer. I also don't have time to type up a medical dictionary for them, but they have their own illnesses and the such, including their own set of STDs!

Quick Background:
They are in the same year we are. They have similar technologies. Their recorded history started some 600 years ago. They slowly evolved and gained the ability to do shapeshifting and portals and whatnot. There are some extinct animals, too, just like our dinosaurs.
