These wounds, caused by the surgery that grants Marlowe his regenerative powers, will never heal.

Personality: Kind, honest and friendly to most, Marlowe appears to be a perfectly friendly guy. However, he can be moody, aloof and grim if he is pressed into harsh circumstances. Marlowe also has a sociopathic streak in him, where when enraged, he becomes a merciless killer. Of course, no one has seen that yet. Marlowe feels shame over the deaths of his friends, as well as the many defeats he has suffered. Also, he is terrified of women, to the point of having gynophobia.

History: Born in a small fishing village, Marlowe's young life was relatively unassuming. When he was 5 years old, his father was lost on a fishing expedition, and by the time he was 7, he'd lost his mother to a great sickness. He fell into the care of his grandfather, a traveling gambler who many times led a caravan called the Golden Galleon. From ships to shore, Marlowe grew up in a nomadic life, being trained in different skills by many of his grandfather's companions. From sleight of hand from Selene, the caravan's card mistress, to learning how to fight dirty from Gryndir; his grandfather's bodyguard and a berserker from the south.
At the age of 14, Marlowe found himself studying books on aldite; and tried to gain acceptance to a small college of aldite researchers. There he learned that he was a rare creature: a magical blank; someone who was spiritually cut off from magic entirely; forever unable to master the arcane arts. But, it was that odd quality that made him a perfect experiment for the scribes of the college; they used him as an experiment; tearing his body apart and branding him with aldite runic bands that forced energies that would normally kill a human being to change his body. Due to his natural resistance to magic; it took. His body became capable of healing, he became capable of surviving things that would kill a normal human. But the costs were steep; his scars from this experiment would never heal; and he was to be used as a vessel to hold powerful arcane spirits.
He escaped, killing the Grand Scribe in his rush. He traveled with his grandfather's caravan for some time before they became targets as well; and his grandfather was killed protecting him.
Afterwards, he began traveling the world, still on the run and hiding from those who would use him for evil; he now seeks to simply disappear.
Equipment:

Cross Sabre: The blade of Marlowe's father. The cross sabre is a simple fisherman's sword which, due to being reforged and enhanced, has survived many battles.
