FUBAR'd

May 09, 2015
Love to indulge yourself with a nice cold one? Enjoy the sweet taste of fayewine? Or perhaps you just love getting smashed? We have the contest just for you! Brandybuck Inn and Tavern is hosting an event in Endal: FUBAR'd! Dare to see how long you will last going shot for shot with some of the top competitors of Arda!

This contest is a bit more challenging than the others we have had, so pay close attention. First, roll a d7, this will determine which booze shot your character will be taking, along with it's point value. Next, roll a d10 to determine how many shots your character just took. The third step is to roll a d20 to determine if your character continues on drinking or if they are down for the count. There is a chart to help determine where your character lands. Finally, make a post! If you do not post after each round, you will be disqualified! Note: If you roll and manage to get a fayewine shot, roll a d3 to see if your character is down for the count. If you are a god, Hunter, or an elf this does not apply to you. If your character continues on with the contest, the next round will be a d19, d18, d17 ect to see if your character is still in the competition. At most, you will have 20 rounds. When you score the water roll, you DO NOT roll for drunken state or how many you consumed. It is just one glass of water. On your next round, you gain a +2 to your drunken state roll. Do not forget to claim the water bonus when you get it! Don't forget to post your totals!

Bonuses - Elves, Hunter, Gods do not have to roll a d3 for fayewine. If your character has the drinking, metabolism, or sommelier skill, you gain the bonus based on the level for this. If your character is an alcoholic or has alcoholism as a weakness, you gain +2 on your shots taken rolls. Also, if your character competed in the eating contest, gain a +2 to your "drunken" rolls for 6 rounds. Previous winners, Ace, Ariana, and Oniko gain a +1 for their drunken rolls. If you are Hunter - roll a d100 to determine whether you are recognized each round. 1-20, you are recognized. Also, Hunter gains +2 for his shots rolls but, does not gain the additional +2 for being an alcoholic. Furthermore, Hunter rolls the "drunken" roll for determining whether he has grown bored of the competition vs being drunk and out for the count.

Prizes:
First Place - 200 E/Q silver pieces, gold drinking goblet encrusted with dazzling red rubies, 10 bottles of the finest rum, one bottle of fayewine...yes, even for the humans if they manage to keep up with the elves!
Second Place - 100 E/Q silver pieces, silver drinking goblet encrusted with shining sapphires, and 5 bottles of the finest rum

Swimming with the Fishes
Friday, May 01, 2015

Mermaids. Fish. Water. What could be better!?! Do you swim like a mermaid? Perhaps like a dolphin? Maybe you even sink like a rock! Come join us! The docks of Mermaid Cove is where this will start off. The goal is to swim as far as you can from Mermaid Cove to the island of Mellon some forty miles out. To reach Mermaid Cove, simply find one of the two portals in Endal that will transport you there for this event. Please note that for competitions on Mellon and in Mermaid Cove, half demons and demons may partake.

This contest is similar to the archery contests, where it holds in five rounds. For this bit of competition, roll a d20 for your character to determine how well they did based on the chart below. Then, add your bonus based on the following skills - Swimming, Strength, and Endurance. These skills do not stack. Those who are known to worship the Goddess of the Ocean gain a secondary +1 bonus to their rolls. Those who live in the ocean and are known for doing such, gain a +2 to their rolls. Additionally, Qumado, Galen, and Ariana gain a +1 to their rolls for placing last year. The character that makes it the island wins or whomever goes the furthest. With that information, come up with a post on your character's progress between each roll! You must declare your skill before you roll and they cannot be mixed. Meaning, only one skill used for this. Lack of declaration of skill before a roll or a roll made without a post following it, will exclude your character from the competition and any after. If you sink, mermaids will bring you right back to the surface and you will be taken by boat to Erufu's shores. Gunnar and Hunter cannot compete in this event, based on their curses. Only two characters per person may partake in this event. Fairies will be measured in feet swam if they enter. 10 miles = 10 feet. Finally, keep track of your scores and have fun!

- Prizes -
First Place - 300 E/Q silver pieces, a feast in the evening after the contest is over, and win new swimwear courtesy of Panty Pockets For All. (If you are untrained or have less than genius level in swimming and win, you gain an increased level in swimming)

Blue Moon
Saturday, April 25, 2015

A little something has been whipped up for the fuzzy friends of the elves. This is an event that holds favor to the beastmen and beastwomen characters. This is a rather simple event in which the participant must howl at the moon, Viare, and try to catch the attention of the moon goddess, Lunasa. However, one could also howl to the moon, Aon, and catch the attention of the moon god, Cesilain. Be warned for Cesilain may grow jealous and in return you may have to deal with his wrath. With the night having fallen across the land, one may travel to the floral gardens of the Silverbow Manor where a white marble pedestal sits in the center of several beautiful statues of matching stone to depict the six different goddesses; Lunasa, Dwynwen, Ethairen, Seraphina, Marghana, and Akordia. Here, one may take their stance and peer up at the moons overhead as they sit on beautiful display. Take in a deep breath and get ready to howl like you mean it! If you’re lucky, you’ll find a prize illuminate before you.

To play in this event, you must have your character make their way to the pedestal and take their position before the great moons. Next, roll a d20. Look to the chart and find how well you have done. Lastly, make a post in response to what your have rolled. Possible bonuses – Anthros +3, Partial Anthros +2, Shifters +1, and Will. Half elves take a -1 and pure elves take a -2. Do not forget to claim any bonuses before you roll. Also, remember that if you do not post after your roll, you will be banned from the rest of the events and you may find your character facing a curse. Have fun with this and be creative!~ Good luck!~

Opening Parade
April 22, 2015

Music would play out and sound the start of the festival’s opening parade! Marvelous floats would magically float through the city streets. Many people of interest were upon horses or the floats, waving to the crowd. Among these individuals were Galen, Seurin (Having been dragged by Ace), Daniel, Ariana, Elinthia, Aneka, and Isolde. Also, Wyvern would be seen with Regina and little Claire. Valmaxian and Flardryn too were spotted in the parade, closer to the end. Flower petals were thrown all about and the area looked so beautiful with the showering of petals. Many dancers and performances were scattered throughout the parade and it certainly held an elegant and regal fashion that many would link to the High elves. When the final set of horses came around, it was Ace dressed in knightly armor with a purple cloak of her homeland. The look on Ace’s face screamed nothing of joy and happiness. Ace looked like all business…a little more than usual. She rode ahead of Rathien, who was dressed a regal and most ethereal looking dress in a shade of light green. The material almost seemed to float upon the air. Upon her head was her beautiful crown that she wore most proudly. However, it could be easily noted that the King was not at her side. Fancy that. Those who knew the King well enough, would know that there was little way for him to have made it here. Rathien would address all in attendance, thanking them for coming to join in the festivities.

“I am happy to announce to all of you the list of spectacular events in store for all of you this year. These are in no particular order, to keep all of you on your toes throughout the entirety of the festival: Flying Arrows, Bunny Safety, Idol Factor, Tough Wood, The Grand Cooking Competition, Livin’ on the Edge, The Queen’s Obstacle, The Amazing Art Contest, Hook, Line, and Sinker, Epic Devouring of All the Foods, Blue Moon, Petal Magic, Soarin’, The Dance of Your People, Slew of Arrows, The Great Bazaar, Swimming with the Fishes, FUBAR’d, and the Queen’s Feast. We welcome each of you to dabble in this year’s events. We look forward to seeing new competitors and to see if last year’s winners will be crowned again! Enjoy yourselves and welcome to the Queen’s Festival!” The crowd would cheer as fireworks soon went off overhead, to signify the start of the festival!

Anthro State of Mind
April 19 - May 2, 2015

Earlier, anthros were asked to roll a d1000 and partial anthros were asked to roll a d1500. Based on the results, determine your character's state of being for the upcoming weeks. Again, this doesn't mean that your character is going to be throwing themselves at everyone all willy nilly. Remember to still be respectful of your own character and you as the RPer are the one that would know how your character would handle their state for the week.

Spring has once again fallen across the land. Flowers are budding and the grass is turning green all around. It was time once again for a festival to celebrate the spring and to be thankful to the Nameless Goddess and to the goddess, Ethairen. In the great floating city of Endal, one could find such festivities. Many shops are holding sales to please the interest of the drawn in visitors and tourists. One can find shops such as The Thumbed Page, a bookstore that caters to numerous tastes; The Witching Hour, a shop that holds potions, charms, and many rare ingredients from around Arda; and Mystic Treats, a candy store meets café meets bakery. The Brandybuck Inn and Tavern is located in a lovely spot within the city, near the main festivities, keeping the patrons nice and close to the action.

To reach the elven city, one must ride the Pegasus escorts from Carnissorus Forest or use some form of flying magic. There is also the obvious way of getting there by use of wings. Teleporting is not effective for getting to Endal during these festivities. Also, those of wicked intentions or of evil hearts cannot enter into Carnissorus Forest. Nor can they find their way into the skies around Endal. Another note, a great holy barrier of sorts has come to form around the city with a number of powerful Holy Seven members in the area. Those who are of the undead or are a demon will be vaporized immediately. Half demons will light ablaze and find themselves puking all over. There is only ONE character exception to this. Also, if anyone should enter who has been resurrected from the dead, they will find themselves in a terrible sickly state.

All this being said, it's all fine and good if your characters wish to have sexual relations this week or get some extra touchy attention. However, this does not mean that going so far as to post your intimate step by step relations in the chat is okay. If it leads to that, fade your scene in the chat and take it to a messenger or leave it at that. Also, if you're going to roll your eyes or get squeamish over the content, find something else to entertain yourself with until the end of the week. Any rude and unnecessary comments will get you banned until the end of the event.

Another note that should be brought to attention about Endal, there is NO technology allowed. It is a very strict rule and law. Do not bring technology into Endal or you will be booted from the festivities.

In the end, this is meant to be fun. Let RP happen. Do not cause brawls and fights unless it is in the interest of decent RP and plot building. Do not stir up trouble. Do not get on each other’s cases. This is put together for a good time so, do not ruin it for anyone else. Also, no whining. You are not going to win every time and you are not going to get awesome rolls. It happens. I am also cracking down on people who roll and do not post because they give up based on their rolls. Take it as a challenge and show the chat some character development or make a silly with what you rolled. Lack of posting after a roll will lead to a curse of some kind or a banning from any other events in the near future.

Before the festival begins, all are welcome to come to Endal prior to for relaxation and to take a look around. It might be the best time to take in some sights and meet new friends before you feel pulled this way and that during the festival! Have fun and enjoy yourselves!

You all know the drill by now with these events. Information is posted on them and you follow the rules that go with the game or event. Feel free to interact with one another during this time or to even play out a race or competition between two characters. The more role playing that goes on, the better! Good luck and have fun! Bonuses to rolls are as follows:
Apprentice - +1, Artisan - +2, Master - +3, Genius - +4, Legendary - +5, Godlike - +7
