Power & History: he can propel atoms away from his body at an extremely high velocity, resulting in an explosion all around him. Fortunately, his body can withstand these blasts, while most of his opponents can not leading to the possibility he may be immortal, or at least extremely hard to kill a la Sam Guthrie(Cannonball). It is also of worth to note that he is beginning to learn to focus his power to only certain parts of his body, like his hands (for say punches), and legs (to shoot into the air like Cannonball). Though he gets his name (Jihad) from the cruel kids in his small Missouri high school.

Jihad was the only child of the only Indian family in his small town in western Missouri. In his classmates' ignorance, they deemed him middle eastern, despite his best efforts to correct them and inform them of his true heritage of being Indian, which is in Asia. They refused to listen and by the end of his first DAY in High School he was given the name Jihad. He made friends with some of the loners, but mostly he stuck to himself, preferring to read than to lower himself to their pathetic games.

Finally, one day at the end of his Sophomore year, he had just turned 16. Some of his classmates began picking on him one last time, since they knew they wouldn't get another chance to do it until the start of next year. In short, Jihad blew up.. literally. In the awakening of his powers he killed 7, wounded 12 and left a wreck on the small highway by his town that took a full week to clean up. He was held in a jail cell for 3 days before being brought to court, luckily his parents were colleagues with a famous lawyer. To sum it up, he was given 2 years probation and was forced to relocate himself (in a plea bargain) to Xavier's Institute. It has been 1 year and 11 months he's been on probation and he has kept a sterling record and reputation at the Institute.
