History -

Son of Edward and Catherine Reilly, a prominent business man and a housewife, he grew up in relative luxury, a pretty happy child. It wasn't until his early teens when his powers started manifesting themselves. For example, one day he was taking a hot shower and the water became scalding. Suddenly he noticed steam rising, but it was from underneath him. Apparently there was a light blue coating over the drain, which'd been frozen shut. Another instance occurred in the lunchroom of his private school where he saw a hot cheerleader he'd been wanting to ask out for a while. Upon approaching her, he'd raised his hand to simply say "Hi", and unfortunately dropped a purple ball right behind her, which'd be between her and her best friend, who started making out right in the middle of the lunchroom.

So much for that relationship.

Anyways, eventually (and it didn't take long), his parents figured out he was a mutant and sent him for his sake, and theirs, to live at the Massachusetts mansion. He lived there quite happily, although his power often caused him to be ridiculed, in fact, his nickname was Rainbow Brite. Yeah, nice, eh? After a while though, and a lot of training as far as aim goes (usually with a normal baseball), he became a formidable projectile force, and gained the respect of his classmates. Unfortunately though this was not to last as he was told by his parents they finally wanted him to be closer to home, and home was in New York. And so, he was transferred. At first, he felt truly lonely, although happy no one knew about his 'secret'/humiliating powers. Soon however, he became far too busy to worry about that as he fell in puppy love with Alexia Demire. Unfortunately it was 'not to be', as he believes (despite her mother's pleas) that she burned to death in a fire. For a while, a good while, he blamed her... but their mutual misery brought them together, especially after his own mother died in a car accident. He looked to her as one of the only people who ever cared about him. Soon after, he graduated with a degree in criminal law. No reason in particular for choosing this path, as he didn't really want to become a cop, he instead focused his efforts into sports. He truly enjoyed working out, and wishing he could do it for a living, he learned to use his natural ability he'd been gaining through training with his powers to instead toss a baseball. Turning out to be damn good at this, he was noticed by talent scouts and thrown into the life of a major leaguer at the age of about 24. Having played now for over a decade, he's the beloved pitcher for NY's favorite team, and he still does good works under the guise of a 'humanitarian', despite him being... well... not human. Occasionally visiting the school to check up on things, donating to charity, etc.



Powers -

Disperses brightly-colored, baseball-sized, clear membrane-coated orbs through specialized glands in his palms. Each color has a different effect on whoever/whatever it hits, and the color for them is taken from the sunlight's spectrum (So yes, they're rainbow colored balls. This also means that over time with no sunlight, it'll automatically default to black while a long time surrounded by light will default to white).

Color manifestation/properties: He has the ability to control which ones of these he displays through conscious choice. These cannot be diluted by water or by most chemicals means; however there are several with time restrictions and several with sudden effects. (Basically, none are permanent).

Red ~ Creates a hot liquid which upon contact causes whatever it hits to burst into flames. A 'fireball', so to speak.

Orange ~ Creates a liquid, which upon contact with a living creature, causes that creature's adrenal glands to go nuts, acting like a drug (an accelerant) and increasing the blood flow thereby making the creature, for a very limited time, able to endure severe pain, and be abnormally strong and fast. This lasts for about 5 minutes, then they must have another hit to continue. However, if given more than 2, it can become dangerous, and may cause immobilization or even death (depending on amt. of activity during).

    Technical explanation: Upon contact w/ subject the orange chemical has a limited amount of time in the body, by increasing the metabolic rate the chemical forces the adrenal gland to work overtime in order to produce natural chemicals for the body to exist in a naturally accelerated state. Because the body is being forced to work harder it'll only do so for a period of up to 5 minutes. By that time the chemicals faded and the body's correcting itself back to its normal state. If the chemical is reintroduced into the subject within a 10 minute time period, this puts the subject at extreme risk which could result in heart failure/physical trauma due to stress placed on the body.

Yellow ~ Upon contact with anything it hits, it creates a sticky solution, like super-super glue (Of course, if the person, assuming it hit a person's clothes got hit, it'd be relatively easy for them just to... y'know, take it off).

Green ~ This creates a strong acid, which can eat through cloth, flesh, wood, and most metals with relative ease, adamantium being one of the strongest metals, it of course could not go through THAT, but aluminum (5 seconds to 5 minutes, depending on thickness) and relatively thick steel (up to half an hour), it could definitely eat through. Basically the strength of the acid/time it takes to eat through is based off the density of the metal.

Blue ~ This creates an 'ice' ball, pretty much a ball of liquid nitrogen, and most likely whatever it hits will be frozen. (Yes, I am expecting many a joke to be made about blue balls.) This is not an area effect; it's a splatter effect.

Violet ~ This creates a strong pheromone, which causes a living creature, regardless of gender, to want to mate with whatever other living creature of approximately the same species happens to be near it. This is the reason there are zonkeys in the world... because of purple balls. This is an area effect, however it is timed (half at hour at the most, depending on air circulation. It evaporates into the air harmlessly after this time. The diameter of the effect would be about 12x12, about the size of a moderate bedroom).

    Rare occasions: (After 12-14 hours completely in either environment)

White ~ In cases where he's kept in direct sunlight for extended periods of time, his production will be limited to a single white ball, which'll produce a ball of concentrated luminescence (like an uber glow-stick) which can blind people, even burn out their retina (after an hour of being in a normal light settings, the balls will go back to their normal, color spectrum).

Black ~ Another rare occurrence is when he's kept in complete darkness for an extended period of time. Then, the balls turn completely black, and upon hitting whatever object they do hit, they'll expand, surrounding the person/object, whoever/whatever they may be, in a nigh indestructible 'bubble' of pitch black darkness. People can enter into this bubble, but once inside cannot leave until the bubble dissipates, which usually takes about 15 minutes (before an adult of moderate strength can break through) in about 30 minutes however, the membrane will rupture regardless of force being put on it (ergo, it's timed). This does not impair breathing whatsoever, as air can constantly enter the bubble, and actually, it's that very air that causes the bubble to rupture when it does (the more carbon dioxide build up in the bubble, the quicker it dissipates, so trapping more than one person'll cause it to last a shorter amount of time).
